    Also, see if you can locate instructions on how to get into the fiber ONT in an online user group and put it into bridge mode. For my Quantum fiber it was as simple as plugging in its IP into my browser and it popped up the internal menu.

    BE86U upgrade from AC86U - AIMesh problems

    FWIW - I have a BE86u and had an AX57 and AX58 as mesh, both hanging directly off the BE86 and everything 'worked' as expected. Even was notified by the flashing bell and ran a firmware update for the AX57 through the BE86 (manual fw download, flash through the BE86 upgrade interface).

    Just upgraded to BE96U taking advantage of a price reduction to $449, plus a 15% further discount at Best Buy by trading in an old, retired AC86U. Total cost just over $400 with tax. Loaded this 3006.102.3 on first boot. All performing as expected.

    I'm having a similar experience. AX88U 388.8_4. Enabling Wireguard on the router then testing with IPLeak shows my ISP address at near full speed. I have not performed a factory reset, but that is next step. Note that OVPN shows the endpoint IP, but is much slower. Proton VPN, Router profile...

    AI Mesh on RT-BE88U with 3006_102.2_beta1

    If you look around you'll see multiple recommendations to use Asus Stock firmware on mesh nodes with Merlin on the Master node. This has always worked for me for AX and Merlin, but I don't have a BE router to test.

    At the very least, DON'T start posting about something broken with a new build until you've FIRST performed a factory reset and HAND loaded all parameters. Only THEN, post questions.

    Is your AX58 mesh node also on Merlin? I've had better success with the Mesh master on Merlin and the mesh nodes on stock firmware.

    Agreed. This latest version required that for me having come from several previous versions with dirty upgrade. And loading saved config would not function properly. Manual setup fixed everything.
