Hi all,

History -

My Router worked perfectly with Merlin 386.3.2
A few days ago I've updated it to the latest Merlin version 388.2

1. Base version : Merlin 386.3.2
2. Stock Version : 3.0.0.4_388_24209
3. Latest Merlin Version : 388.8_2

Now i am facing other stability issues that i have not encountered in 3 years with the previous version.
It was so stable, that's why I didn't upgrade... But a problem that the internet provider caused, triggered me to update.

1. The 2.4Ghz network disappeared in some devices.
2. Google Chromecast 4K is now working super slow (previously it had 300mbps download and now barely 5mbps)
3. Stability issues with multiple devices - a few disconnections noticed

What to do ??? I was so satisfied with 386.3.2 and now my family are on the edges :SS

Thanks

Did you do a complete factory reset followed by a manual reconfiguration of all router settings after you upgraded ? This is the first place to start.

Factory reset for sure. I experienced the same with this version.

I did Hard Factory Reset and also Factory reset from the router interface. Same issues, nothing was solved.

What do you suggest to do ?

Yes, Did Hard Reset using the reset button and also the WPS button. Also tried to perform factory reset from the router interface.
The strange thing is the the old version that i've used (Merlin 386.3.2) for 3 years without touching it - works flawlessly.

This... I always try a dirty flash to see if it 'just works', and if not, perform a reset and manually load in all the modifications. I usually screen grab each page before performing a reset to ensure I haven't missed something. If the dirty flash didn't work, don't save settings and then reload the saved file on the new flash. You'll just be duplicating the errors.

Did you reload the saved settings file?

No. I've didn't use any settings files. My settings are very easy. DHCP (Automatic IP) connection to WAN, and two seperated networks for 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz. That's it. It worked perfectly on the old Merlin version and now I am facing multiple issues. It also seems like when going away from the router the reception is worse than what was with the previous version.
