GT-AX6000 cannot recognize/mount SSD on USB 3.0 mode

@uzior, have your 2 NVMe enclosures been recognised as USB3 by the router? I have a Sabrent EC-SNVE and unfortunately my RT-AX86u is not detecting it as USB3 (despite showing USB3 in the GUI): - "nvram show | grep _speed" shows only 480 - the router log shows "SuperSpeed USB device using...

Brute force attack although ports forwarding activated

To improve your security on the ssh-side, you could use ssh keys (under Administration, System) to prevent any brute-forcing of your ssh access if it is exposed to the internet.

The cli version of spdMerlin correctly reports around 2GB of data downloaded and uploaded.

spdMerlin GUI bug in spdMerlin on Gbps+ connection?

Hi all, I have a symmetric "10Gbps" fiber connection plugged in the 2.5Gbps ethernet port of my RT-AX86u. spdMerlin reports correctly between [2-2.5]Gbps speeds, but I presume there is a bug in the "Download Data (MB)" column and the "Upload Data (MB)" column. NB: the cli version of spdMerlin...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Hi all, Am I the only one with fstab not being read? It seems to me that when using "mount -a", it is /rom/etc/fstab and not /etc/fstab which is loaded. Therefore, any entry put into /jffs/configs/fstab, copied at boot in /etc/fstab, is not used when using the mount command. @RMerlin, is...

AX86U Speetest 600 mbit CPU Limit

It may very well be because of Wireguard: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/session-manager-discussion-2nd-thread.75129/post-750673 https://www.snbforums.com/threads/session-manager-discussion-2nd-thread.75129/page-21#post-731542 The Wireguard Add-On now disables by default Flow Cache, which...

Solved Ideas on why download speed on AX86U slower than AX58U?

I can confirm that on my symmetric “2.5Gb/s” connection, disabling HW acceleration decreased my download speed from circa 2Gb/s to 1Gb/s while my upload remained at circa 2Gb/s

RT-AX86U Hard Factory Reset not fully working

Hi @DarkKnight75, hi all do you know what this “kernel: httpd (xxx ): drop_caches: 1” message mean? EDIT: found the answer to my own question: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/386-4-alpha-build-s-testing-available-build-s.74186/post-722204

SMB over VPN on fiber internet super slow.

You need to tweak the smb.conf file to reflect your “shares”. On my side, I simply copied the smb.conf file created by the built-in samba server (from the firmware), and adjusted couple of parameters.

SMB over VPN on fiber internet super slow.

Hi @domic, I just tested the remote transfer of a 1GB movie from my SMB3 server sitting at home (on my RT-AX86U), through OpenVPN (server on the same router), the transfer rate showed by my remote Windows client was 5MB/s which I believe is c.40Mb/s. Not too far off my current max upload speed...

    RAX200 DNS configuration guidance needed

We’ll, it was worth a shot, as it is provided by the same ISP. Let’s see if they come back with an official answer then!

    RAX200 DNS configuration guidance needed

Indeed the original post was to deal with VOIP issues, but the command may work to access broader settings. Did you try to change “admin” and “password” by the login and password you use to log through the GUI ?

    RAX200 DNS configuration guidance needed

Thanks for the update. These hotlines are a pain with so many people not knowing what they are taking about. It would be good to have an official solution/feedback from them, but I’m getting ready to check out the command of the last post of the following link as soon as I receive my connection...

    RAX200 DNS configuration guidance needed

Hi @bob123456 Kindly keep us posted with respect to your exchange with the ISP (Sunrise correct?). I just subscribed to a 10Gb offer from Sunrise (for $42 / month, I couldn’t resist!) which uses the same Zyxel modem/router and I understand that they are locking the DNS settings and one cannot...

    [HOW-TO] install Debian Squeeze

Let’s give it few days. If it doesn’t come back online, I can walk you through debootstrapping your own Debian chroot, or provide you with the Debian files/image.

    [HOW-TO] install Debian Squeeze

Hi, you can follow the following tutorials: if you have an ARM router: https://hqt.ro/how-to-install-debian-stretch-arm/ if you have a MIPSEL router: https://hqt.ro/how-to-install-debian-wheezy-mipsel/ It works very well. I personally debootstrapped an aarch64 (ARM64) debian version for my...

Solved DNS-over-TLS and chroot (NextDNS DOT issue)

I can confirm that changing the DoT DNS provider (to Quad9 here rather than NextDNS) solves my connectivity issue. I renamed the title of the post in case the NextDNS team keeps an eye on this forum. Thank you very much @bbunge for taking the time to answer and propose a solution.

Solved DNS-over-TLS and chroot (NextDNS DOT issue)

Thank you @bbunge. Will try another DoT provider. As a temporary solution for those interested, a not so elegant solution is to copy /etc/resolv.conf to /opt/debian/etc/resolv.conf
