    Wifi problem with skd6 builds

Hi, Did you do a factory reset? This is essential to use this new build. Go to the Factory reset in the Web-Interface (or push the WPS button while powering-up for over 15 seconds: see User Guide). Do NOT restore a backup but restore all settings manually. Success! Added: WPS...

    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.2239

The only reason why I bought the Asus RT-N66U router was it's superb coverage performance. If newer firmware takes away this advantage and make it "like all the others" then there is no reason to use Asus anymore.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38 is out

Yes Yes Yes Of course, I would say. I learned a lot from all the posts. I "glued" my test laptop on a certain place in my house, the same with the Asus. I have no disturbing Wifi signals in the neighbourhoud. I use the RT-N66U in the AP-mode as I have a D-Link router close to the modem...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38 is out

I do not agree with you that the em is better than SDK5. See this post, where I have 5 dB loss, which is very noticable in my big house. I am planning to go back to _270.26b which worked superb here when it comes to coverage.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38 is out

Hi, I did some tests with my RT-N66U. Tests done with Sony Vaio VPCF12M1E, Wifi = Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN. inSSIDer version 2 (I know, is old, but works great for me). 2.4 GHz -41 dBm with 374.36_beta1-sdk5 -55 dBm with 374.38_1 without factory default reset -49 dBm with...

Version 35 coming today, but no update on signal strenght

Hi Merlin, I just read your "History" file for the .35 firmware version, being released right now. I don't see any comment or fix for the signal strength, being lower for the latest versions than one year back. Any idea when the RT-N66U will be back on full strength, able to cover the...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 is out

SDK5 much better in range than SDK6 Hi, I tried both the 374.33_0 and the 374.33_0-sdk5 firmware in my RT-N66U router. The sdk5 variant is much better for me, living in a big house with big garden. The sdk6 version is much less powerfull in range than the sdk5. The main reason that I...

    Merlin firmware difference

Please check the channel you are using. In the 2.4 GHz band my RT-N66U seems to always use channel 1, despite what I set (I set channel 8) with Merlin's version 31.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.372.31 is out

Hi, Since I use version 31 the RT-N66U is using channel 1 (on 2.4 GHz) all the time, independent from the setting. I programmed channel 8 but it is actually using channel 1 ...... . BR/Bernd Added: I now read more posts about the channel problem. I am back to version 30_3 ..... .

Which version is best for 5 GHz today?

Hi, I am following and installing Merlin's firmware since I have the Asus router RT-N66U in use. With the latest beta's (27-29) I notice that the WiFi-link on 5 GHz is not so reliable as my Vaio laptop is switching to 2.4 GHz all the time (distance between router and laptop is not more than 2...
