Struggling with new rt-ac68u and bridged td-w8950n

Hi, I suppose you have read the limitations for bridge mode with the AC68U RT-AC68U can be configured in Media Bridge mode. The Media Bridge mode provides the fastest 802.11ac Wi-Fi connection for multiple media devices simultaneously. To set up the Media Bridge mode, you need two RT-AC68U...

    mod: 380.58.2_HGG-FINAL released

Just "wetransferred" the 59_final to someone here in The Netherlands. From a very disappointed user he became extremely happy with the coverage of his brand new AC87U. :)

Comparison between RT-AC68U with HGGOMES & Merlin and EnGenius ECB1750

See here for how EnGenius thinks about RF-power ... With the 28 dBm (this is what the the webinterface is telling me, I can't check the real RF-power) I am outside the law here in NL-country. I am not using any cable between device and antennas. But with no neighbours close around me I don't...

Comparison between RT-AC68U with HGGOMES & Merlin and EnGenius ECB1750

No, I have one spare 68U (not the one I use as router) and reflashed the firmware, did a factory reset and build the SSID and WiFi settings from ground. So in both situations the 68U was behaving as normal users would face it would work.

Comparison between RT-AC68U with HGGOMES & Merlin and EnGenius ECB1750

As I have a spare AC68U I thought "let me compare my ECB1750 with the Asus one, loaded with HGGOMES firmware ...58.2 and with Merlin 58.0". I placed them on the same location, of course only one was running at the time. Each firmware version had it's own SSID. I know the weak spots in my house...

To use autochannel or to not, that is the question.

Do not use auto channel as the router can only see the radio signals which are being received by the router. Make your own channel plan for the channels. Auto channeling will never be better than a healthy brain ......

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I have the AC68U flashed with John's fork 14E1 and tried to reflash it with the latest one. Whatever I do and flash (original Asus, John's latest fork, Merlin's latest), the router seems to ignore these flash files and keeps on going to have 14E1 installed. After hitting the UPGRADE button it...

    Replacing Stock Antennas On AC68U

Best option is to move the router out of the closet. Using coax cables and antennas on a distance will not help you. Either accept bad performance or move the router to the previous place, really.

Asus users, anyone else close to saying "screw it" and moving to Ubiquiti?

I degraded my Asus to being the router only. The main wifi comes from EnGenius AP ECB1750. Superb coverage. Ubiquiti is being considered when I am in for a new one.

    Fork 380.57 HGG-FINAL

But we still need firmware which uses the max allowed RF-power in Europe, so Merlin, please focus on the old continent for after June 2016 ..... I read that Asus is coming with E-variants in 2016: these have the max RF-power output set to ETSI standard :)

[HELP] Transmit power restriction for RT-N66U

You say it right: demanded by the FCC. But I live in the real free world, Western Europe, and also Asian (and Canadian?) people have nothing to do with the FCC. If ASUS is not changing their policy for products not ment for FCC-countries, they are out of our kind of people's interest. And...
