OpenVPN - Access to LAN Only

sorry to dig up an old thread - but i never did manage to get this working. On the other end, I also have an RT-AC86U running Merlin. I wondered if I could maybe connect from that and specify from that end for only traffic destined for 48.0/24 go through it? Everything else to go out the normal...

OpenVPN - Access to LAN Only

Still struggling with this. Before I wipe and test - does anyone know how easy it would be to use the router as a VPN server only (on the 48.0) network, leaving the BT kit to handle routing, dhcp, etc? In that scenario, I would surely just be able to enable the LAN ONLY toggle on the VN server...

OpenVPN - Access to LAN Only

You know - I've never actually tested that part out. If it was down for an extended period, I could reconfigure the clients. Otherwise, It's not the end of the world if they just for for it to come back online. The failover is more for our cloud based phone system.

OpenVPN - Access to LAN Only

This isn't possible unfortunately. It was the first thing I wanted to do when told I'd have to revert back to the BT kit. Am I maybe over-complicating things by having this on a separate network? Should it be possible to have it sit on the same network while not handling DHCP itself?

OpenVPN - Access to LAN Only

Thank you for the help! Adding this to the configuration gives the following error.... OpenVPN server daemon failed to start. Please check your device environment or contents on the Advanced Setting page. System Log Output... Nov 5 13:15:52 rc_service: httpds 814:notify_rc...

OpenVPN - Access to LAN Only

Didn't work unfortunately. Still only able to ping the interface of the VPN router. Unable to ping anything on the 48.0 network.

OpenVPN - Access to LAN Only

I think I'm perhaps doing a poor job of explaining our scenario. The Asus Router is now just a glorified VPN Server, plugged into our 48.0 network, but configured on it's own 49.0 network. I only did this as I couldn't get it to work when it sat on the same network - my assumption was that...

OpenVPN - Access to LAN Only

Customers visiting our office (not so much at the moment) or staff for their personal use (no need to access our internal network with these devices)

OpenVPN - Access to LAN Only

The 49.0 network has nothing on - i just had to put the Asus router on another network for it to work correctly (DHCP issues when it was on the same network) Not tried with WiFi guests, as they're all isolated anyway using that feature in Merlins firmware under Guest WiFi.

OpenVPN - Access to LAN Only

Hi All :) At work we're using a BT BusinessHub as our main router. Previously we used an AC86U but now we have BT's 4G Assure failover, which is essential for our SIP phones we've had to revert back. Our LAN address is 192.168.48.0 I currently have the AC86U sitting on it's own network of...

    Static Route Settings

Fixed - in the VPN settings I still had "Client will use VPN to access" set to LAN only. Changed to "Both" and now we can talk to 48.0. No static route required at all.

    Static Route Settings

I've just tried using the PING tool on the ASUS to get to a server on the 48.0 network and it replies back successfully!? Could it be something to do with the VPN clients having an IP of 10.8.0.0/16?

    Static Route Settings

I hope I'm not posting in the wrong area - hopefully someone could help me out? :) We've been previously using an 86U running Merlin as our main business router - flawless. However we're now moving back to using BT Smart Hub as this offers us 4G failover with "BT 4G Assure" - vital for us as...

Femtocell not working since switch to RT-AC86U (Merlin 384.4)

Good Morning All, We recently switched the BT Home Hub in our office over to an RT-AC86U running Merlin 384.4. This has given us a list of benefits over the old router. However, we previously had an Cisco (EE) Signal Booster (Femtocell) attached to give EE signal in the blackspot our company...

No IP Address on Guest Network [384.4]

Damn! How stupid of me - it's not a huge network so I could just let the router handle DHCP instead. Thank you for the help!

No IP Address on Guest Network [384.4]

Yes - I don't want guest clients to be able to see our servers

No IP Address on Guest Network [384.4]

Hello, Today I've installed a new RT-AC86U running Merlin 384.4 The network has it's own Windows Server handling DHCP, therefore it's switched off on the router. Clients joining the main WiFi network receive an IP address without any problem, but using the guest network no IP address is...
