    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

Newer firmware versions have Security Update switch on Firmware Update page. This is what updates ASD. Needs data sharing agreement to Asus.

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_51720 (2024/11/13)

Not sure why you need to reboot your router(s) regularly, but I had one similar RT-AC66U B1 before and it used to do months uptime on whatever stock firmware was available for it at the time. It was my VPN exit point in another country and was replaced just because Asus killed it with the bad...

Read the changelog. If you had to reboot 14_0 perhaps this will remain unchanged in 14_2. Security fixes mostly, the same GPL base.

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

There is no user update for this one. Automatic updates from Asus servers in background.

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

What @giosita is talking about is ASD file update. Different than Trend Micro signature update on Firmware Update page.

Help with Unusual WiFi Connection Issue

Most likely you'll never reach this point. You have to get rid of all clients below AX and make sure the new ones support WPA3 only.

    RT-AX57 Go

Like the travel router with wall mounting holes idea. I would like to mount my travel router on a hotel wall. Are the screws included?

Help with Unusual WiFi Connection Issue

Just use WPA2-Personal. It works well and makes the network more compatible without PMF requirements. The vulnerabilities are theoretical and only in close proximity to your Wi-Fi. The cat lady next door is highly unlikely to hack your network and 30m away your 5GHz signal is too weak anyway. If...

Help with Unusual WiFi Connection Issue

WPA3 is more secure, but when you have WPA3 only. When you have WPA2 option enabled what’s the problem exploiting the potential WPA2 vulnerabilities?

    Extend coverage of my RT-AC86U

In case it's actually working as described on the specific hardware and firmware - may cause disconnections for clients below the threshold.

    Modem

Replacing the gateway with another most likely won't achieve any of the goals. ISP provided home gateways usually have very limited set of features. What you can ask CenturyLink is if the new gateway offers any better connection speeds on your existing ISP line and location.

    Extend coverage of my RT-AC86U

Correct. This roaming assistant has to be disabled for single AP. Clients have nowhere to roam anyway.
