    ASUS GT-AXE11000 5 vs. 6 GHz ... a preview

Looking forward to review. One thing to consider when comparing 5ghz to 6ghz. 5ghz can be problematic to some. Weather radar on ch 124 in my case. (Although rules about DFS and weather radar could be changing soon)

    XT8 purchase advice

Might want to check on availability. Amazon in UK hasn't had stock for months. May or May not be related to wifi 6e or covid.

    GT-AXE11000 custom firmware

Also if you want support. Might be worth highlighting the features you'd miss the most by not having Merlin firmware.

    News ASUS "New" models

Asus has horrible aesthetic designs on alot of their routers, especially the more expensive ones. However I do like the aesthetics of the RT-N66 and Zenwifi XT8. On that note I have noted that the XT8 has been harder to come by on Amazon UK often being out of stock. I'm hoping this means a...

Asus XT8 - Is it dead?

I've had one of these where after uploading a corrupt certificate holding the factory reset button didn't work. I managed to factory reset it a different way but can't remember how. It may have involved holding reset before plugging in or just holding it for a very long time. lok at screw...

    JTAG vs Desoldering NAND?

Ground is ground. Anything that is marked as ground is all connected together. To be sure use a multimeter on continuity setting and it will beep if you touch two ground points. Ground and negative are not the same though.

    JTAG vs Desoldering NAND?

JTAG is easier if it works. However sometimes there will.be times when jtag won't work and you will have to desolder.

    ZenWiFi AX XT8 - Have I made a mistake?

I had this with a work laptop. Was using an older intel WiFi driver. Updated it and then found XT8 fine. Just need to convince her IT dept to update the driver...

    ZenWiFi AX XT8 - Have I made a mistake?

I used to use S band and L band for work. Shouldn't cause an issue as not same frequency. The issue is the weather radar does use the same frequency in some of the 5ghz range as wifi does.

    ZenWiFi AX XT8 - Have I made a mistake?

Just over 5km as the crow flies.

ZenWifi AX XT8 - cannot connect squeezebox radios (logitech)

Have you manually set the wifi channel? Some devices are limited on what channels they can use. (Amazon firesticks being an example)

    ZenWiFi AX XT8 - Have I made a mistake?

I had to return mine as the backhaul was useless due to weather radar. See review in my sig for more details. I'm waiting on 6e version.

    ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000

Possibly for most yes. But I live in an area too close to weather Radar. So wifi 6e is something I'm waiting on to build a mesh network. (Backhaul only) I hope Asus upgrades the ZenWiFi XT8 to 6E early next year. I wonder if Asus are going to get anything 6E out this year.

    iPerf results from WIFI6

Ok well just saying as I had issues with my devices roaming the bands despite being within 2m. That includes S10+ & S20+

    iPerf results from WIFI6

Are your 2.4ghz and 5ghz on same SSID? If so try changing them to be different.

    iPerf results from WIFI6

I had issues with iPerf giving rubbish stats on my XT8's. I just tried downloading a large file from my NAS to my phone and monitored the bandwidth that way.
