    OpenVPN performance

I can get 35mbps, which is my ISP max, with my AC68. but, it also depends on your VPN provider. try these all at the same time. mssfix 0 mtu-disc yes fast-io

    OpenVPN performance

do you mean AC68U? It sounds like you are using openvpn client 1. Try using client 2. When using client 1, only core 1 is used because openvpn and the regular routing the router does is all done on core 1. When using client 2, openvpn will run on core 2. With the major operations...

Which VPN providers offer Asuswrt-Merlin applet?

with the good CPU that are in the AC56, AC68, AC87 and the like openvpn speeds are getting quite nice. it's wrong for somebody to say routers can't do more than 10mb/s these days. granted, you have to spend money for a good router. it's long been reported that the AC68 can do 50mb/s with...

    OpenVPN client keeps disconnecting

maybe every 24 hours your ISP resets your connection? I know mine does.

Which VPN providers offer Asuswrt-Merlin applet?

It sounds to me like your ISP may be throttling openvpn and the routerpro defeats the throttling. AirVPN offers openvpn through SSL and SSH tunnels and many people seem to find that using those options also bypasses throttling. Perhaps their routerpro option is doing something similar. I...

    DNS problems openvpn

In the WAN section I specify the DNS I want (google public or openNIC or something) then in the openvpn client I switch to disabled the option "accept DNS configuration". with this setup, even when connected to VPN you will use google public or whatever you insert in the WAN section. I...

Which VPN providers offer Asuswrt-Merlin applet?

yeah, just the built in openvpn client and I use AirVPN. I am currently living in Thailand and connect to VPN in Singapore. AC68 overclocked to 1200mhz do you know more technical details of the routerpro option? do you get the same speeds if you use openvpn udp option vs routerpro udp?

Which VPN providers offer Asuswrt-Merlin applet?

how are you testing speeds? I get 35/5 on my AC68 using the regular openvpn client. I just can't usually get that by testing with speedtest.net and the like. I can get that with a multi part download or a torrent. What providers have you tried while using the openvpn client? Not all VPN...

    OpenVPN performance

the ac68 is nice but the ac87 is even faster, on paper.

    OpenVPN performance

age isn't the issue. the CPU architecture is what drives openvpn potential. I think the AC66 is a MIPS architecture, while the AC56 is ARM. am I right?

    OpenVPN performance

usually when I see down speed low and up speed higher there is some throttling going on by the ISP. also, I don't think the AC66 is going to be super good at VPN anyway. The CPU in that model just isn't up to the task of encryption/decryption.

    OpenVPN performance

have you tried both TCP and UDP? with such low latency it probably won't make a difference but doesn't hurt to try. is the the same when in both directions? Could the ISPs and internet between the two routers be throttling openvpn? it's known to happen because "they" can see it's an...

    Portforwarding and OpenVPN Client

    1) You need to be testing this setup by knocking on the door of the IP address you're visible to the internet with - that of the VPN. It sounds like you're testing this by going to the internal IP the VPN provider assigns you since you say you're getting your router web page. 2)If your VPN...

The VPN Client, can't get it to work

your router is using openvpn version 2.3.4. I see in the log you posted. It also explicitly states IPv6 capability in that same line. so, perhaps IPv6 needs needs to be enabled on your router even though your ISP doesn't support it. then maybe it'll understand the IPv6 address the VPN...

The VPN Client, can't get it to work

Is mullvad saying the only connections they support now are IPv6?

    Port Forwarding while Using OpenVPN

I'm pretty sure that PIA allows for only 1 forwarded port at any one time.

    Help with openvpn client setup

no, those are not the logs I'm talking about. but, I think you'll have better luck in this forum and with your router if you actually put merlin firmware on your router. :)
