    "Apple usual high prices for a Router" ??? what exactly you taking about ??? The Extreme is one of the most stable consumer. Did you see other routers prices ? in the $300 to $500 ? Extreme never went over $200.

    Not that it matters, but Netgear should have called this "Orbit" as that would be a more appropriate name to what it does....like something is launched in a orbit...you get the point, Orbi sounds uninspiring....but if it works well based on reports here then is all well :)

    ASUS N66U and AC68U - Dropping WAN only

    I wonder if there is an Asus rep on this forum that can help, maybe open a trouble ticket. I have a Gibabit switch, if I connect it to the cable modem first, give it a minute, then connect the Asus to the switch. I wonder if that would work better.

    I had the RTN66U, RT65, RT10, RT12 and they all are doing the same thing, dropping the WAN with different cable modems. I changed the cat5 many times and I also used cat6. Also power supply. I had the newer RT68U and did the same thing after one week, dropping the WAN ISP. I did a factory reset...

    I bought these new to play with it. Few months old, like new.They work ok, occasionally they disconnect from the my cable ISP with standard Asus firmware. If you have DSL or install DD-WRT they may work better. $15 for the N10P and $18 for the N12 shipping included in the US only. Not shipping...

    Thanks for the info. Sounds good. I will then get another in the future, it was a great router besides ISP disconnect. I do have Charter so that the newest firmware fixed more stuff that is even better. Thanks again.

    Does the newest firmware allows the setting for the ISP to Normal instead of Aggressive ? I had the N66 about a year ago and it constantly disconnected from the ISP so I sold it. I don't recall if the firmware had that option at that time. Maybe getting another one at some point.
