    Remote Log Server, RFC 5424

Hi, I would like to enable the remote log server, but need the messages sent in RFC 5424 format (the "newer" standard). I can't figure out what version of syslog is being used (sorry!), so not sure if this is possible ... and of course if it is, how to enable it. Any pointers? FYI, from the...

    findasus.local not working?

Makes sense - thanks for the help!

    findasus.local not working?

Figured that may be it - no way to make it work I assume (i.e. it's being bypassed effectively). Right? Thanks!

    findasus.local not working?

Hi, I did see that in the code, and tried it - but it takes me to the Asus web site. Could it be because I'm in AP mode? Thanks!

    findasus.local not working?

Hi, I found this pretty handy helping my sister-in-law out recently - but it doesn't seem to work with Asuswrt-Merlin ... or is it just me? I do seem to see it in the git code, but it could be somewhat disabled. Not a biggie, just trying to understand. Thanks!

    Wireless Client List Incomplete

And it makes sense that they are different. It seems that the Client Status page is missing items - and watching it, it's much more transient (i.e. items coming and going). So don't trust this one I think you're saying? Thanks!

    Wireless Client List Incomplete

FYI, one more note on this. I checked the Client Status, Wireless shows 7 devices. But under Tools I see, Wireless clients (2.4 GHz) Associated: 5 - Authorized: 5 - Authenticated: 5 Wireless clients (5 GHz) Associated: 5 - Authorized: 5 - Authenticated: 5 Thanks!

    Wireless Client List Incomplete

Hi, I have been trying to figure out which WAP a particular device of mine is connected to (they are all running Asuswrt-Merlin), and I don't see the device in the wireless list for any WAP. This did seem odd to me, so I decided to try checking using the ASUS Router app on my Android phone -...

    Run cgi-bin Program?

Hi, I'm trying to get NUT to work (monitoring my UPS from my ASUS router). It's working fine, I just can't get the web server to execute the cgi scripts to output the information via a a web browser. Is there a way to make this work? Thanks!

    "Encourage" 5 GHz Operation

Thanks for the info. Will dig into this more - much appreciated!

    "Encourage" 5 GHz Operation

I believe they do, which is why I was asking. The MAC filter is a bit of a challenge, as I don't want to be adding devices all the time. Thanks!

    Wireless Log

OK, NP - was hoping there would be an option, like nslookup for example. But if not, no biggie. Thanks!

    "Encourage" 5 GHz Operation

I can try that (preferred). I was hoping to have the AP "nudge" the clients ... as I have Windows, Linux, Android and iOS devices ... ;-). Thanks!

    Wireless Log

Hi, Ahhh - that's it! ... :-). I have more than one router, so need to be in AP mode (longer story there). Is there no way to have this work in AP mode? Thanks!

    "Encourage" 5 GHz Operation

Unfortunately not - lots of legacy HW still around, that supports only 2.4 GHz ... so have to keep the radio on for that. But for devices that support both, want to "steer" them to 5 GHz ... :-). Thanks!

    Wireless Log

Hi, Would it be possible to "extend" the Wireless Log a bit - by executing, say, nslookup ... to show hostname, not just IP address? Thanks!
  18. T

    "Encourage" 5 GHz Operation

Hi, Is there a way to try to push clients to 5 GHz, given that it's less crowded typically, and supports wider channel BW? Thanks!

Resolve IPs on active connections list

Hi, Just checking back in - as I upgraded to 380.57, and did a full factory reset + re-configured. I do like the way the wireless clients show up now (in AP mode) ... thanks! But still finding oddities in the name list. Any thoughts, or things I should try to change in the configuration...

    SNMP Monitoring

NP, thanks. Wasn't sure if you added custom MIB / SNMP entries or not. Thanks!
