Hi,

I have been trying to figure out which WAP a particular device of mine is connected to (they are all running Asuswrt-Merlin), and I don't see the device in the wireless list for any WAP. This did seem odd to me, so I decided to try checking using the ASUS Router app on my Android phone - another interface in to the router. Interestingly enough, I did find my device, connected to a particular WAP, and listed in the Android App. But, on that same router using the GUI to login directly (HTTP), I don't see client in the wireless list (or in the entire list for that WAP).

BTW, on the Android App, I see 10 wireless devices connected - but only 8 in the HTTP GUI.

Have others seen this? Thoughts?

Thanks!

FYI, one more note on this. I checked the Client Status, Wireless shows 7 devices. But under Tools I see,
Wireless clients (2.4 GHz) Associated: 5 - Authorized: 5 - Authenticated: 5
Wireless clients (5 GHz) Associated: 5 - Authorized: 5 - Authenticated: 5

Thanks!

The Client Status page probably lists disconnected clients that still have a valid lease. The wireless data shown on the Tools or on the Wireless Log pages are the most accurate.

And it makes sense that they are different. It seems that the Client Status page is missing items - and watching it, it's much more transient (i.e. items coming and going). So don't trust this one I think you're saying?

Thanks!
