    RT-AC87 Headache

Just curious but why did you set your 5GHz to 40MHz instead of the default 80MHz? I really hope the next firmware addresses these wireless performance issues that many of us have endured since the beginning.

    RT-AC87 Headache

Has Asus abandoned support for the 87U/R? WiFi performance on this router is a POS and I'm getting beyond frustrated with the lack of support and firmware updates for this model. I (bleeping) paid almost $300 (w/ taxes) for this router and 3 months after it's release, 5GHz wireless is still...

    Asus RT-AC68R and IOS 8

iPad Mini Retina slow/dropped WiFi connection since ios 8 update. Is there another solution besides rolling back to ios 7? Steve Jobs must be rolling in his grave with all of these Tim Cook era blunders.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

New firmware can't come soon enough. With this latest build, I'm getting disconnects every couple of days. The only thing that gets it going again is a hard reboot from the back of the router. A reboot from the gui page does not fix the issue. Also my 5 GHz wireless locks up a couple of...

AC87R Disconnecting from Modem every few days

Thanks Merlin. I did as you suggested and it happened again tonight. This started happening with the latest Asus firmware (2678). When the connection goes down this is the message that comes up on my browser.

AC87R Disconnecting from Modem every few days

My RT-AC87R works great but every few days it disconnects from my cable modem (Charter) and a hard reboot fixes the issue but I'm trying to understand WHAT is causing this issue (if it's from Charter's end or from the Asus router). Attached is my system log. If someone can take a peak at it and...

    AC87R vs AC87U

You are corrected on that. Must be sold from Amazon first hand, no 3rd party re-sellers. Also I've had 3 different BB stores all match "R" router prices with the "U" version. I just explain to the person doing the price match that BOTH versions are exactly the same model, just that the letter...

    AC87R vs AC87U

Not true. Best Buy has price-matched the previous 4 Asus "R" routers I've purchased with their "U" counterparts

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

Thanks. Too early to tell. I updated the fw this morning.

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

Thanks for the confirmation. I updated from .2044 to .2061 and did a "factory reset" afterwards and re-did all of the router settings from scratch. Is this good enough or should I have done a WPS-button reset as well?

ASUS RT-AC87 Firmware - Official Releases

What happened to all the 5GHz options under "professional?" It's skimmed down. NO Preamble type settings and a bunch of others missinmg as well from previous firmware(s). 2.4GHz retained all previous settings options though but not 5GHz. Anyone know WHY?

    ASUS RT-AC87U Dual-band Wireless-AC2400 Gigabit Router Reviewed

Currently using 2044 firmware. If I update to this 2061 Beta - Do I have to reset/default the router and start from scratch or just flash the update and be done?

    ASUS RT-AC87U / R Price and Availability

The "U" version is slated to release at the end of this month and the "W" version usually doesn't come out until a few months after the regular model R/U hits the market.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.44 is out

    Is .41 better than .43?

Asus locking down routers to comply with new FCC rules

Sorry if this has been answered before but WHY does RMerlin have to comply with this guideline for his firmware(s)? Technically he's NOT a "manufacturer" and his releases are unofficial/3rd-party.

WRT 1900 AC new firmware 1.1.8.161917

    Are people still buying the WRT1900AC? EA6900 router + blue housing (w/ 4th antenna) + same buggy/crappy Linksys firmware = WRT1900AC.

Share What You Know: ASUS RT-AC3200 News, Release Date, Price and Expectations

Aside a few firmware bugs, the AC87R has been working great for me thus far. No complaints whatsoever. Longer range and faster 5GHz wireless than any previous router that I've owned and used (R7000, WRT1900AC and the AC68W). Once the firmware matures in the next couple of months this router...

    New Asus RT-87U

He only reviews the "U" version and currently he's dreaming about the "R" version so it looks like we're going to have to wait a bit.

    New Asus RT-87U

You crack me up bro. I love your router enthusiasm. I'm a router junkie too - except that I would never waste my time with garbage Netgear routers. Belkin/Linksys about to join the "crap" list as well. Asus is the only way to go IMO when it comes to routers. I've tried them all and I keep...

    NETGEAR R7500 Nighthawk X4 AC2350 Router

According to you (in multiple threads) - Asus routers are the best and that you're planning on buying both the AC2400 and the AC3200 in the near future. Now you're saying that you've been waiting for this Netgear router? You're all over the map man. Lol.
