    XT8 WAN drops (3.0.0.4.386_46061)

@ninjabob I've an older Sony model connected along with other devices on a XT8 node (all wired), such appeared too but after an Android TV OS update. Other devices on the XT8 seem never affected by such message. So possible but maybe not too :)

    Speed discrepancy in XT8

Some laptops have NIC power management (hw and/or sw) and that may be a variable here. May you try with a desktop or a least with a laptop and its power supply? Set the power plan to "performance" or anything similar may help too.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.46061 (2022/01/14)

Some other issues with WAN speed decreasing by time up to a stable level, but no problem with CPU speed with AI protection ON. The CPU/MEM are stable and low, internal traffic is as expected

XT8: WAN download speed decreases after 10 to 12 hours

Hi guys, I get my XT8 (router+node) since November 2021 and noticed this behavior with both 45934 & 46061 firmware. After 10 to 12 hours my WAN download speed decrease from steady 400Mbps to 330-340Mbps. The upload seems not affected. I see no specific message in the log. It happens both on the...

Significant WAN speed drop on Asus RT-AC68U after a few hours

Hi, Did you sort it out? I'm on Asus XT8 and stock firmware but experience the same thing: speed drop after let's say 12 hours. Restarting the Asus router fix it temporarily, the same with the modem has no impact. Removing the WAN cable has the same effect, back to correct speed for a short period

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.46061 (2022/01/14)

Hi folks, just noticed something about the guest network and would like your feedback. I'm trying to set multiple guest networks and noticed: - only the first column 2.4GHz/5GHz-1/5GHz-2 (Guest Network index 1) has the option "Sync to AiMesh Node" - despite the fact I configured the first...

ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) struggling with Bittorrent traffic

Well I've a different experience, but the seed box is wired. The number of connections is often high (udp/tcp) ans XT8s are not a problem (even CPU load).

XT8 Firmware on 3.0.0.4.386_46061 Printer lost connection

An MFC-L3770CDW here, connected to 2.4GHz and FW 46061. All wifi settings are default ones, no disconnection. I followed the 46061 upgrade with a WPS reset of the router, maybe it has an impact.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.46061 (2022/01/14)

Does anyone noticed a change in the Smart Connect rule in 46061? I'm on it, no big problem but at some place my phone seem to bounce between the 5GHz-1 and 5GHz-2 of the same node. I see the BSSID changing a lot of time and it cause issue of course. Checking this tab I try to understand the...

ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) struggling with Bittorrent traffic

A new version is there, 4.4.0 with a couple of issue due to major change. This is an interesting info for me that I report to QBT dev if related to the last version. Staying with 4.3.9 a bit more is fine. The re-transmitted packet is inherent to wifi connection and may kill it depending of...

ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8), suddenly slow 5GHz Backhaul transmit speeds on all nodes.

Not exactly the same title (PHY) in wired backhaul but indeed by my setup these numbers are dynamic Whatever the numbers make an iperf3 test and you'll know the exact bandwidth on each node

ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) struggling with Bittorrent traffic

Hi, XT8/QBT running here too but wired, same FW updated this weekend. Nothing bad at this time. Which QBT version? It may comes from re-transmitted packets, may you give it a try by wire?

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.46061 (2022/01/14)

I gave it a try with dirty upgrade+WPS reset, wired backhaul (but tested wireless too). It's only a couple of hours so too soon to give a feedback but fine up to now. (wireless device, WAN/LAN speed, no particular log message. Stay tuned

And here I need to to say...You're right ;).

    Trouble with opening ports

49xxx- 65XXX means Ms RPC protocol, so a very common thing but not with the WAN If the portforwarding is not listed in system log>port forwarding then for sure it will not be accessible. Have you tried to change the port for anything >1024 (eg: 5678) The meaning here is to dodgne any ISP...

    Trouble with opening ports

maybe obvious but is something listening on the target computer on port 44158/TCP? (netstat or ss shows it on the computer?) The system log>port forwarding on the router shows the port opened to the correct protocol/local IP?

Asus Zenwifi XT8 wired backhaul question(s)

Here is what I did on my setup to set custom DNS (not the ISP ones) -LAN>DHCP>no DNS defined (blank) -WAN>WAN DNS Settings Connect to DNS Server automatically>NO (avoid ISP DNS settings) DNS Server1/2: set the DNS you want to use (google, cloudflare, else) I enable DNS over TLS etc, but that's...

Asus Zenwifi XT8 wired backhaul question(s)

Both should work but indeed, I made all my cabling with T568B including the node to router cable. If you can test, please share the result

Asus Zenwifi XT8 wired backhaul question(s)

Hi, Your assumption is correct: with backhaul in place you can use all ports on the node or the router as a switch. Your wired backhaul seems correctly connecter (WAN node port ---> LAN router port), does the logs on the router shows something? What if you connect a computer on a LAN port on...

Asus router and port powered external HDD

USB powered hub to avoid any weird behavior or the WD element in 3,5 format with builtin power supply I prefer the last option on my own devices but nothing wrong with a (good) powered USB hub
