    I have two rt-ac66u. One with the smaller size that also fits the rt-n66u and a the larger size which is the same as the rt-ac68 and 86u. So if you buy one for the rt-ac68u, you will be fine.

    Don’t give up on it yet. Reset it and see if it starts broadcasting a signal.

    You could use the dual wan feature to assign one of the lan ports as the wan port.

    Do you know how many Netgear r8500, 7000p I have had with the same wl: wl driver adapter not found message? Almost a dozen and a few ASUS routers too. All resulting in a boot loop. Bad chip design I think.

    You might have to open it up and try to flash over serial. I’m one of the moderators on the dd-wrt forum. If you live in the states and want to pay for two way shipping, I can try serial recovery if you don’t have the gear.

    The rt-AC86U uses the same one as the rt-ac68u. I have both routers that I swap in and out using the same adapter.

    You can also use dd-wrt on it if desired.

    Then try flashing straight ASUS firmware if you think it’s an issue with rmerlin firmware. Or try an older build of his. Or try dd-wrt.

    Careful removing mines. They can explode if not done correctly.
