    The cfe mini web server is built into the router. Also there is dd-wrt for the rt-ac66u. Has been available for years.

    Don’t set the channels to auto. Stick with 1, 6 or 11 for the 2.4ghz. Whichever is least used around you and has the fewest overlap from adjacent channels. Channel width 20mhz. I can’t remember the options. Same with the 5ghz. Try to use the upper channels if possible.

    What are your Wi-Fi settings? Post them for both bands. Do you have the latest firmware installed? I have a C3150v2 and have not noticed that in the limited time I used it.

    The new restoration tool is different. The old one tool won’t work with the rt-ac86u firmware just in case someone is in the same situation. The tool didn’t work for me. I had to get an rma. I also am curious on the “partition” option on the rt-ac86u mini cfe server.

    He can’t initialize. The router is in a boot loop. He can access the page he posted that asks about partitions. I had the same issue. I got an rma.

    Well, I’m not sure what you were trying to do but like I said, if you flashed the cfe from an rt-ac68u on an rt-ac66u, it’s time for a new router.

    Well if you tried to flash the cfe from an rt-ac68 to an rt-ac66u, as you say, then go buy a new router. If you flashed the rt-ac68u cfe to a t-mobile rt-ac1900 and made a mistake, go buy a new router. Discussion of the t-mobile unit is forbidden. Either way, you need a new router.

    Actually Kong’s build usually have fixes ahead of the main builds. Asuwrt firmware has proprietary stuff in it that makes it illegal to be used on any unit but what it was meant for. Also there have been instances of people messing up their r7000 by running the xvortex firmware on them which...

    Kong tests his builds. BrainSlayer doesn’t. Too many units to support. When possible always use Kong. IMO, other than the extra 5ghz band, an r8000 is not an upgrade from an rt-ac68u. Not when you have rmerlin and dd-wrt. The koolshare versions are a violation of forum policy.

    Working fine on my brand new rt-ac86u. Went from stock with no reset nor power cycle. If I encounter any issues, I will reset.
