    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.38 is out

Hi Merlin, First of all, thank you for your work. PPPoE performance is back up. As far as the WiFi tests go, I don't see any performance degradation or any improvements whatsoever. Then again we're talking about a 1 floor, 85 sqm space so I'm not sure if it counts. 2.4 Ghz is stable at 72...

Looking for feedback: PPPoE and poor WAN performance

I am currently using 3.0.0.4.374.36_beta1-sdk5 and I tried 3.0.0.4.374.36_beta1 too. At most I get 170 Mbps. I am 95% sure that scorpionro and I share the same provider.

    Just bought Asus RT-AC66U

You should use the latest firmware if your down speed is lower than 170 Mbps.

    Feedback: any Dual WAN user?

Currently on RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.36_beta1-sdk5. Configured for Fail Over, the N66U router will not switch back to the primary link. I don't see a way to trigger it other than rebooting the router or toggling the Dual Wan Off/On. The load balancing is also pretty sketchy. The ratio doesn't seem...

Looking for feedback: PPPoE and poor WAN performance

Hello Merlin, Writing here for posterity as I had already made a thread for this issue. My connection is a GPON FTTB to "black box", then Ethernet [1 Gbps down / 100 Mbps up] to an Asus RT-N66U router. Going back through all of your firmware revisions, the most recent version that provides me...

    pppoe speed issue

Thanks for your reply Merlin. I too am one of the, hopefully few, ones affected by the lack of HW acceleration for PPPoE. While 3.0.0.4.354.29 is fine for now, I am sorely missing the dual WAN capabilities. Do you have any hopes of getting this into a new FW?

    RT-N66U PPPoE low throughput

I guess that I somewhat resolved the issue with RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_354.29-BETA1. After changing some more firmwares, I got back to it and after a reboot I'm getting 85MB/s down, 14MB/s up. I guess this will have to do, though I am not sure what I can do about the missing dual WAN in this release.

    RT-N66U PPPoE low throughput

I've also installed RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_354.29-BETA1 which brings me up to 47 MB/s down, 4.5 MB/s up. A little bit better. Any further recommendations to improve my speeds?

    RT-N66U PPPoE low throughput

Hello! I've just got a 1 GBps line installed and the RT-N66U is falling short of expectations. I've updated to both RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.35_4 and RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.35_4-sdk5 (current), but I am getting, at most, 23 MB/s down, 3 MB/s up. I'm not expecting max speeds, but even the laptop...

(Static IP) WAN issue, little to no throughput

I would try to change the MTU, but I can't seem to find it in RT-N66Us settings.

(Static IP) WAN issue, little to no throughput

I'm sorry, I don't follow. My ISP provides a Cat5e. I can use that either directly or put a router in between. I only have problems when I'm using the router. It works perfectly when using the link directly or through a switch. I was previously using a D-Link DIR-600 and had no issues.

(Static IP) WAN issue, little to no throughput

No. If I reset to original settings and go through the set up again, from my PC or laptop exclusively, the same issue manifests. EDIT: I have tried a lot of different configuration options. I am reluctant to post them so as to not focus anyone on a potential wrong issue. I am however, open to...

(Static IP) WAN issue, little to no throughput

I have tried with the 2 GWs listed in my test results and also with Google's DNS servers in addition to the 3 DNS servers of my ISP. I did read something around here, which I also tried. I set my router, 192.168.1.1 as DNS server in the LAN - DHCP server page. This results in getting some...

(Static IP) WAN issue, little to no throughput

Hello everyone, I've been trying to get my new router to work for almost a week now. Being out of options, I thought I might bother you for some help. The router came with firmware 3.0.0.4.260. My WAN is set up as Static IP with 2 ISP-provided DNS servers entered manually. I also provide...
