RT-AX88U maxing out a core and regularly showing 60+ MB/s upload

I was just able to update via the router GUI without a reboot. The new signature version shows 2.428.

    Unbound YouTube Ad Blocker

I use the function and it's not perfect but does work to block some ads.

RT-AX88U maxing out a core and regularly showing 60+ MB/s upload

Unfortunately I have Spectrum Internet and it's unlimited, so they provide no data to the customer. I imagine if this is actually happening and continues, I will hear from them.

RT-AX88U maxing out a core and regularly showing 60+ MB/s upload

Does this apply even when disabled? I have never used it nor enabled it.

RT-AX88U maxing out a core and regularly showing 60+ MB/s upload

I was out of town this past weekend and came back to see another spike below, even though nobody was home. I've checked everything mentioned here and see nothing that might be causing this. I don't know if this is actually happening or if it's a glitch in the Traffic Monitor, which I know has...

BIG issue with ASUS routers killing network with upload flood

You are the 4th or more person to recently have what seems to be a similar issue as you read in the other thread. It will be interesting to see if more people have this issue. I'm keeping an even closer eye on my usage.

Mine is ext4 but you can use your preference. When using amtm I believe you can choose.

RT-AX88U maxing out a core and regularly showing 60+ MB/s upload

You can choose where to save the data on the Tools - Other Settings tab. I save mine on the attached SSD.

RT-AX88U maxing out a core and regularly showing 60+ MB/s upload

I have not changed the password as it's pretty unhackable, but I think I will change it.

RT-AX88U maxing out a core and regularly showing 60+ MB/s upload

After reading this, I went and checked my Traffic Monitor, which I never look at because I look at the Statistic tab and also because I have vnStat installed. I too have three days of huge spikes each totaling 230-296GB on 10/1, 10/8 and 10/12 that I had never noticed before. I have had a couple...

RT-AX88U Pro admin console and Safari

Is your router at 192.168.1.254? That's what you are trying to connect to. I believe default will be 192.168.50.1 or 192.168.1.1 unless you have changed it.

    GT-AX6000 - Memory Leak? Hacked?

I have the same router and the same internet speeds and AiProtection works fine and in no way slows anything down or messes with those settings.

    Anandtech closes up shop

I've noticed on a couple of older car forums I frequent and were dying out, but suddenly there is a constant stream of "new" posters asking questions. They are getting very good at appearing to be normal posters but they are definitely AI generated. These posts are too well polished and lack the...

AdGuardHome AdGuard Home DNS Sinkhole Setup

@SomeWhereOverTheRainBow thank you for that tip. I hadn't had a chance to update this thread yet but had discovered your method after a deep dive into it. Appreciate the response.

AdGuardHome AdGuard Home DNS Sinkhole Setup

For the record, I figured out how to do this and it seems to be working perfectly. I had forgot to mention that AdGuard Home on the router is forwarding everything to Unbound on the router. I was able to stop the every 20 second DNS requests that were skewing both the AdGuard Home stats and the...

That does work, though I was hoping to find a way to make it work without hiding anything.
