Hi just bought a Asus Rt-ac1900p from best buy. It comes with: ASUS RT-AC1900P Firmware version 3.0.0.4.380.1842 Which merlin version do I use for this router? I know that if I update to the new firmware I am locked in, but don't see this model on the merlin site. Thanks

    New RT N66U

Thank you very much. I didnt know if the 100ft cable would degrade the connection at all, but there is really nothing in my walls other than the ethernet and directv cabling. I ran the ethernet cord from the router, into the crawlspace, into the attached garage, into the floor above the...

    New RT N66U

Thanks so much for your detailed reply. I do have a follow up question. On my previous RT N56U, I only saw one network available ever from my router, lets say "TomsWireless". I never saw two "Tomswireless" so does that mean I was either only getting 2.4 or 5, not both. I am confused with the...

    New RT N66U

Hi Everyone, I just purchased an Asus RT N66U to replace my RT N56U. I have never really set up a proper wifi network and was hoping someone is kind enough to give me some basics to improve my coverage, range and strength. To start off with my internet is 65/20Mbps. I am looking to hook...

    Best router for wifi range

Ok, I just ordered the RT N66U. I figure the 3 external antennas should provide the extra 10-15 feet of coverage I needed to begin with. It wasnt much, but enough to cause me to get up off the couch to get signal. Thanks for all that helped.

    Best router for wifi range

My clients performance works better on the old wnr3500 than the Asus rt n56u. I am wondering why 180 people have looked at this but cannot chime in to let me know which wireless router has the best coverage at a max budget of 200.

    Best router for wifi range

I need to buy a router within 48 hours. Please give your input regarding the RT N66u vs the R6300 Netgear. Has anyone tested the range of these two routers against one another? I just hooked up my old WNDR3500 and I have signal where the RT N56U failed. Please let me know, right now from my...

    Best router for wifi range

RT N66U Vs. R6300 Range...who wins? Hi everyone, I currently use an Asus RT N56U and it is an overall good modem. Not too many dropouts and the range is ok. I am having an issue with the range on the router not reaching our living room in a 2000sq ft home. I cannot get my phone to get...

    Point me in the direction..

Bit the bullet and bought the RT-N56U from amazon for 129.99 w free shipping plus 19.99 for a 3 year squaretrade warranty. I figure that the 20 dollar rebate from Frys would be negated by tax and shipping so it wasnt worth it. Just went to amazon because the squaretrade warranty is cheaper and...

    Point me in the direction..

Can someone answer just one question for me. Would there be a difference in terms of wired performance between a PS3 and any type of router?

    Point me in the direction..

The Asus rt-n56u is currently at Frys.com for 129.99 with a 20 dollar mail in rebate. But only until 4-21-11. Please respond soon or I may be forced to just pull the trigger on that unit. Hoping its not overkill. Thanks

    Point me in the direction..

Hi Everyone- This is my first post here. I have been lurking on these boards here for about 1 week, reading and soaking up so much information, that I am more confused then ever. I am a novice when it comes to networking. I am currently in the market to replace my WNR 3500L router...
