Asus ROG GT-BE98 Pro New Firmware 3.0.0.6.102_37038

Sounds like it's more of an AsusWRT issue over a specific hardware issue since it's present on multiple models. I was thinking about plugging my iPhone into the BE92U to test it, but would that be a reliable test? I don't use, or need Dual WAN personally, was just going to see if I could...

Solved RT-AX86U - Stuck on old firmware (solved!), WiFi not working (solved!)

Right, it's not something i will do overnight. I just thought doing it in steps would be a good idea to see what all i can use and be out less money if something doesn't work out. By the way, Jim came out right before Thanksgiving to flag off where the new line is going to run, but no further...

Solved RT-AX86U - Stuck on old firmware (solved!), WiFi not working (solved!)

All I meant with that statement is 10G internet isn't available here, and I have no need for that speed right now. In terms of 2.5G I have that available and the iMac can benefit from it when it comes to large downloads. I don't have the space needed in this apartment that I'd like to have to...

Solved RT-AX86U - Stuck on old firmware (solved!), WiFi not working (solved!)

I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and it's only about 625 sq ft, and 6Ghz seems to work in the bedroom, but i mainly got it for the 2.5g Ethernet ports over wifi 7 as the only device i have that can do 6e is my iPhone 15 pro max. So basically for now, I've just been using it as a dual band...

Solved RT-AX86U - Stuck on old firmware (solved!), WiFi not working (solved!)

I was in a similar position. I was concerned about future updates and security patches regarding my RT-AX86U (even though mine never had this issue.). So I decided to get an upgraded router with faster Ethernet ports and the new line of AsusWRT. So also got an RT-BE92U. I did update my...

Thanks will keep it in mind.

    ASUS RT-BE92U

I was going to ask about that. Can MLO do 5 and 6 Ghz only and have a separate SSD for 2.4? Also can I keep my 3 Separate SSiDs and add a separate MLO one ?

    Has RT-BE92U "wrong" CPU?

I have the BE92U and live in the U.S. With me, I'm always in a odd spot when I need upgrades, or want to try new hardware to see what benefits I'll get from it in my particular setup. I already had an RT-AX86U that's stable, but was concerned about future firmware updates going forward...

    ASUS RT-BE92U

My current setup is 3 separate SSIDs for 2.4, 5, and 6GHz. Don't have any WiFi 7 devices yet, so haven't set up MLO for now. I have set up 2 iOT networks under network. 1 for my lights, and one for the smart plugs. Everything seems to play nice with this setup for me. Currently I don't need...

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

@Tech9 had told me the RT-AX86U had several chipset revisions when it came to Ethernet ports, not sure if this also applies to the wireless / CPU or not, but is there a way to see which hardware mine has? Also, mine is the Gundam edition vs the standard black with red highlights. I was curious...

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

I'm not sure if my RT-AX86U ever worked correctly as an AIMesh node. Even though I don't think it ever experienced this issue, it kept going between an AIMesh node and AP based on how it showed up in the main router. Usually in AIMesh, it doesn't show up in the clients list, but as an AP, it...

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

Sounds good, you might want to also check to see if your regulations have changed so you won't be limiting yourself unnecessarily going forward, if you're now able to legally use them.

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

Did you do a factory reset in case this was a firmware update glitch ?

    ASUS RT-BE92U

I was going to test my iPhone as a 4G source, but I decided to pass because I don't have good enough signal in the apartment with the phone to make it worth it. Calls work fine, and I've set up WiFi Calling, but for data when it gave me any kind of speed test results it was about 37 Mbps down...

    Release ASUS RT-BE88U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_37094 (25 Nov. 2024)

Just thought I would post here and report that the Auto Detect WAN isn't reliable with the BE92U either. Different router model, probably the same firmware base. I manually set the 10G port as well, and it's been fine. Like I said different model but same problem with the same solution.

    ASUS RT-BE92U

I would have to check with Verizon wireless, but I have unlimited data to my phone, but i think my plan is if i use up to a certain amount as a hotspot it will get throttled. I had considered connecting my phone to my router if my wired connection goes out to see how the 4G functionally works...

    ASUS RT-BE92U

Hasn't dual WAN been a regular hit or miss function with Asus routers? I remember seeing problems mentioned with it on other models as well. It's been a while though.

    ASUS RT-BE92U

I had the same kind of instabilities with the RT-AX86U when I first got it. My smart lights wouldn't stay connected and made things very unreliable with automations. As time went on things stabilized with the firmware releases, and I also learned a better way to configure things. I didn't...

    ASUS RT-BE92U

Thanks for the feedback, everything is working as it should. I was mainly curious since each new generation of WiFi seems to have it's quirks regarding legacy devices when it first comes out.

    Release ASUS RT-AX86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24323 (2024/11/28)

I've had the occasional "failed to contact update server" message. For me, it usually works again next try, or within an hour or two. Either way, glad you got your router updated, and it's working now.
