1010+ GigaBit connection

I bought 1010+ 5 days ago (5x2gb)
I have noticed slow speed connection.

My network consists of 3 computers:2 HP workstations wired gigabit capable and a new wireless HP laptop.

My problem seems to be my US Robotics 4 port ADSL modem router with 10/100 LAN speed.

Can anyone has a suggestion of archiving Gigabit speeds?
A. a new Modem/Router like Linksys WAG320N
B. a gigabit router
C. Nothing because any device (the wireless laptop or usrobotics 10/100) will downgrade the speed

The easiest way would be to connect all your wired devices to a relatively inexpensive gigabit switch, and in turn connect that to your ADSL modem router.

This would hugely improve the speed to the 1010+ from the wired HP workstations, but won't help the speed from the wireless laptop.

The speed might be limited to 100mbits which is the speed of the ADSL modem.

Well.. in a word, no. communications through the switch to the router would be limitted to 10/100 speeds, but not communications between the 1000mbit devices through the switch.

Check out the link that occamsrazor posted. I also use a 10/100 router and a gigabit switch. Between the gigabit devices I get gigabit speeds.

You could buy a gigabit router if you wanted, but if your only goal is to get gigabit speeds between the gigabit devices, that would be spending more money than you need to.

Any suggestions for a Gigabit Router
to wire my:

2 gigabit workstations
1 wifi laptop
my USrobotics 4port(100mbits) Modem

Any unmanaged Gigabit switch will do OK, I use the Netgear GS605 and GS608

If you want to make use of the Dual LAN ports on the DS1010+ and to 'team' them together with Link Aggregation (802.3ad), which will give you a 2 Gigabit connection, you will need a managed switch which supports 802.3ad, like a Cisco SLM2008

Unmanaged switches are considerably cheaper than managed ones
