I recently replaced my router and access point with a couple of ac68u's. I have my 5Ghz channel widths set to 40 MHz and N + AC as it is more stable with our cell phones. This is the same settings used with my other equipment. Issider shows the channels as only 20 MHz wide.

I have tried other settings with the same results. This is not specific to Asuswrt-Merlin because I had the same results with the stock firmware.

Any idea what is going on?

Answer: It appears that I had and issue with Inssider, which was previously working. I just upgraded to the pay version of Inssider and I am now seeing 40 Mhz width channels and the correct connection speeds.

You have to specify a channel (can't use auto) to get the wider channel widths.

I have specified all channels on both units specified. The router is set for 2.4 GHz channel 1 and 5 GHz channel 36. The unit set up as an access point is set for 2.4 GHz channel 6 and 5 GHz channel 48

Edit: Inssider also shows the max connection rate on the 5 GHz channels as 54 Mbs, and switching wireless mode from N + AC to Auto, makes no difference.
