AB-Solution and OpenVPN

So I think I have a full ad blocking solution on my phone by deploying AB-Solution on my router and then using Merlin's OpenVPN feature.

I just had to enable "Respond to DNS" and "Advertise DNS to clients" to get this to work but now when I am using data on my phone I connect to the vpn and I no longer see advertisements. I am fairly new to this stuff, is there any disadvantage to this setup that I am missing?

I don't use openvpn just pptp and it works the same. Only disadvantage would be just a slower response time in pages.

Only a few disadvantages:
1. You'll use more data and your transfer speeds may/will be slower.
2. Some web site might not load correctly due to ad-blocking

Added benefits:
1. You'll be more secure when accessing over an open hotspot.
