If you follow the instructions above it should work. How long have you owned the router?
EDIT: What version firmware are you flashing?
EDIT2: Flash with Asuswrt-Merlin 380.68_4 Stable.

EDIT2: Flash with Asuswrt-Merlin 380.68_4 Stable.
I've had the router for about 2 months now and I was flashing 380.68_0 and 380.69.0.

Edit: My reason for flashing the merlin firmware is because I wanted to install plex on the router. Doesn't seem like something that will be possible if the router refuses to boot back up after power loss.

I would try 380.68_4 as it is a proven stable past version. 380.69 was just declared stable however I'm not using it and I can't duplicate your problem. I have had a lot of success with the last known stable build(380.68_4).

OK will try again later tonight with that firmware.

I will flash through the GUI. Question do I have to reboot the router manually after flash even if the router reboots on its on?

No you don't.

No you don't.

OK I'll give it a go again in a few minutes carrying the laptop in the living room and just leaving it in there and hopefully the device stabilizes enough to allow it to reboot without any issues.

Like I said I've flashed with a wifi connection to the router and it worked just fine. Just make sure you don't power down during the install process. If you have a laptop it should be wireless get a connection to the router and flash or run a cable from your laptop to 1 of any of the 4 ports available.

Got to connect, remember i damaged my wifi card on the laptop.

No dice now. Went into a bootloop, I used the recovery program to flash it again and I'm getting the same thing.
Try to break down what you just did for me step by step please. I don't want to just say its hardware. If anyone else can help please jump in.

Ok so it doesn't matter what version of firmware it all fails right?

Ok first thing I did was I went into the web GUI and flashed the firmware (the one you recommended trying) after the flash was complete and it ask for a manual reboot, I let it sit there for 10 mins before powering the unit off and back on again. From there it went into the bootloop where it would come up showing just the port that I was connected to Lee and the power led would come on and after a while all 4 port LEDs would flash and it starts over again. It just keeps doing that over and over.

So after about 10 mins of that I decide to flash the firmware via the recovery program. When I did that it gave me the same results that I explained before.

Just now I flashed the stock firmware via the recovery program and it rebooted and came up normally. Flashing stock never gives me an issue just when I flash the Merlin's.

Can you try again and when it asks for a manual reboot please try this from the GUI. Not physically turning off and on.

When it asks for the manual reboot.....reboot from the GUI reboot button.

Ok will give that a go right now.

Edit: I'm unable to reboot using the reboot button in the GUI because the dialogue that says reboot router doesn't move off the screen.

Was unable to do this because the please reboot dialogue stays in the screen.

Can you refresh the page?
Use Ctrl and f5
Or cancel buy it
