AC3200 Routers By July?

Actually, I think they are. They find they can sell fewer units and make as much, if not more than selling lower-cost routers.

Might be right - saw this across my news feed on 09 JUN...

In a nutshell...

The global wireless LAN equipment market saw its first down quarter since the end of 2012, with revenue shrinking 10.8% sequentially in 1Q14, to $1.1 billion.

The market is however up 3.3% from the same period a year ago, according to Infonetics Research.

For the full year, the WLAN equipment market grew 11% to $4.47 billion worldwide in 2013 as about as many 802.11ac access points shipped in the first quarter of 2014 as did in all of 2013 (just under 300,000).

After a multi-year decline, independent access points have finally found a bottom and are now outpacing interactive access points.

Interesting...

Cant wait for a small net builder review of this piece. I'm very interested in what you guys have to say about it.

Netgear releases this month. When are the other AC3200 routers gonna hit the market?

There's a post on the Netgear R7000 forum this morning from a user who claims to have received his R8000 yesterday.

Netgear and Asus the only companies I see making noise about their AC3200 routers. Anyone else in the game right now like Belkin/Linksys or any other companies?

Linksys was late with their WRT1900AC, so they may not have the bandwidth to be putting out another higher tech router while they're trying to stabilize the wireless-1900AC product. Seems likely that they'll be late with wireless-3200AC as well.

At a guess, TP-Link probably won't. There might be an exception, but they are an all atheros/qualcomm shop AFAIK. Which means they likely won't step beyond AC1900 until Qualcomm is actually shipping mu:mimo SOCs and radios.

Just a random guess on them at least.

I wonder what's up with Amped. They still only on AC1200 devices.

yes but linksys already had another AC1900 class router, the WRT-1900AC was just special...

its not like linksys or others were very far behind with there AC1900 class routers

When is the Asus RT-AC3200 gonna launch? I'm tired of them being so quiet about it.

All they said was "Q3/Q4 2014".

Based on the code I see in the current GPL archive, I'd suspect it won't be released for at least a few months.

Current focus is most likely on finalizing the RT-AC87U, which is nearing its release now.
