AC68U as Media Bridge for ATV3

Like many others, I am trying to stream video from iTunes on my PC to an Apple TV3 in another room. I'm in a rental situation so I can't run wire between the floors. So I bought two AC68Us--one to serve as the router/wireless for the house and the other as a media bridge for the ATV and other network devices in the living room. The router/media bridge connected fine, I have a strong signal and I've updated to the latest firmware on both. I'm always able to connect devices to the internet. However, my issue is that I keep losing the ATV as an airplay device on the network. Likewise, the ATV won't connect to my computer unless I stop and restart home sharing on both the computer and then the ATV.

I'm sure there are router settings that need adjusted and I've searched a variety of key words in this forum and others looking for guidance. Not seeing any, I thought I would start this thread and see if others had experienced the same issue and would offer suggestions to help me correct it.

Maybe a dumb question but have you tried using the second router in repeater mode?

The lack of hardware acceleration on a router with a SoC this powerful should not be noticeable at all, and well, it might solve the problem the easiest way.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that, but it didn't change anything. I think it has to be a firewall or other setting in the router. But I haven't figured it out yet.
