Should I stick with Merlin (I just installed for the hell of it), or stick with stock firmware?

No yelling, but did you even read the RMerlin sticky about his firmware?

For an Asus router that he supports, there is no other to consider, if you value the fastest, most stable and most secure current router available 'today'.
