Your double NAT issue may be upstream at your ISP. Some ISPs use so called CGNAT and provide private WAN IP addresses to subscribers.

You don't seem to understand what your router does though. A router in router mode is still needed, as it's routing the signals from all your devices to your ISP's network which in turn has further routers who gets your signals out onto the greater internet, which also consists of routers, just at a different scale from home routers.Now my mind is blown . Thanks for the reply though, I shall look more closely at the settings I’ve chosen for the router. No cable or xDSL (I had to google that) but it won’t give an internet connection when in access point mode so my setup must require a modem mode of some sort. Should have just used the rubbish one they included in the box but the signal was awful. Thank you though
