Hi,

New user for Asus AC68U router and merlin latest fw loaded. Upgraded from a DD-WRT loaded Linksys E3000. initial impression is nothing less than impressive.

But I do have a question. I want my Guest wifi network cannot access the main network. However I want main network can access Guest network. and let Guest network can access other machines in the same guest network.

The reason is I have a network wifi printer I want it to be accessible by both Guest and Main network.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Leon

Normally this is done with ACL access control list and all of it can be done but I do not believe ASUS supports ACLs.

Sounds like a basic mis-understanding of what a Guest SSID is...

If you're opening up your wifi to "guests" - this suggests that you don't trust them...

I understand the AP isolation concept and guest network. However in DD-WRT I could do that. I can create bridge and assign br0 for main network and br1 for the guest network. then use a set of iptable rules to get the result I want. Basically I want 2 isolated network with some shared resource.

a bit more digging seems this thread have something I want.

I did not think of the 3rd party software's. Do any of the 3rd part software's like Tomato or DD-WRT contain ACLs?
ACLs are so simple to use.
