I bought three of these from Amazon for review since AirTies won't provide them. I could not get them configured using either the Android app or web interface.

I could get them to link with each other using the WPS buttons. But the app still won't recognize them.

Has anyone had any luck configuring or using these?

Sounds like this might be the easiest review yet. In all seriousness, why review this model? It appears to be a 2015 vintage.

So the app only shows one node on the network map?

The device does not appear to be certified for bluetooth frequencies or have a bluetooth radio so the app must communicate via Wi-Fi. When paired via WPS buttons, does each device end up with a unique IP on the same subnet?

The AirTies datasheet talks about avoiding "hassle" buy buying pre-paired packs.

The reason for review is that I'd like to compare AirTies' mesh vs. the other solutions I've looked at. AT&T apparently thought AirTies has something worth buying into.

The app doesn't even get that far. It is stuck looking for AirTies nodes on the network.

I agree regarding not using Bluetooth for setup. Each node gets its own IP.

I could pair the units via WPS. But the only way to set WiFi network name and password is via the app. Which won't get that far.

I wonder if the Amazon units mentioned above are "managed" units - e.g. CPE, and waiting to register there...

Maybe. But they are branded "AirTies", not AT&T. There are many comments in Play store "reviews" that echo my experience.

I found this on AT&T website. The AirTies seems to link only with AT&T modems. It reads the wireless info off the modem and then becomes an extension. You can do a wired back haul if you want.

Tired of Wi-Fi® dead zones? The AT&T Smart Wi-Fi Extender connects to your Wi-Fi gateway (NVG599, 5268AC, or BGW210), creating a mesh network that extends your Wi-Fi signal to more areas of your home. You can stream music and videos with less buffering, on more devices, in locations you couldn’t before.

Did you ever get it to work?

Looks like you are limited to the 3 AT&T Wi-Fi gateways. It is probably a cheap way to extend your wireless if use AT&T.

Hi

I have a pair of them. They are given as a set when you subscribe to Singtel fibre here in Singapore. The Android app works for me, but is pretty much useless, you cannot do anything sensible with it. For some reason the web based automated detection method, ez.airtiesmesh.com, didn't detect anything. But logging on via the IP address worked ok. Performance seems ok, but I am using wired backhaul.

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Hi there,
I've been running 3 Airties in my house now for 4 months, and I'm still impressed with them.

Extremely simple to setup, throughput is amazing. I have a 100mbps Fibre and doing speedtests I get 100mbps from my laptop and P10 Plus. Kids have cheap phones and only get 35mbps. Which would indicate the wireless client is critical in the process.

I'd recommend them anytime.
