New Around Here
Hello!

I have an ASUS RT-AX88U and an ASUS RT-AC5300 router. Both of them support the link aggregation, and both of them are supported by AsusWRT Merlin.

I'd like to make an Aimesh system, where AX88U is the primary router and AC5300 is the node. There is a lot of wall between the two routers, so for this reason, I only want to connect the two routers in a wired way (Ethernet only backhaul).

My question is, it is possible to use the Link aggregation to make 2Gbps bandwidth between the routers instead of 1Gbps?

Thanks in the advance!

You have no access to node settings. How you are going to configure the link aggregation there?

I know I'm a little late on this, but I was just wondering the same thing just now. I currently have an axe16000 as my main aimesh ROUTER and an ax11000 as an aimesh SATELLITE. I'm considering making the backhaul a wired connection and am exploring my options. I'm pretty sure you indeed can use port teaming/link aggregation with a wired backhaul. As soon as you login to your router's interface, click on the AiMesh from the menu on the left. If you've already connected your AiMesh satellite, you'll see it in the middle of the page underneath your AiMesh router. Click on the AiMesh satellite, then, on the right side of the screen, you should see Clients, Network, and Management. Click on Management and scroll down until you see Bonding/Link Aggregation. You should be able to enable it in the drop down menu. I'm not sure what you'd have to do afterwards, and it's possible that it will only allow you to configure bonding for the LAN ports of the AiMesh Satellite, but I'm confident pretty confident it can be done. If I end up setting my wired backhaul up with link aggregation, or fail to, I will come back here and give an update.
