asus GT-AX11000 temp?

hello my asus GT-AX11000 is very buggy, and ive installed latest merlin firmware to see if its going to solve my problems, but i notice my cpu temp is 72c and my 2.4ghz is 47c and 5ghz 47c, is temp normal or is it kinda high?

I saw mine up to 88c. I got a fan for it and it sits right on top and now at 56-58c. Everything feels smoother

High is >90C on idle. Too close to thermal protection threshold of 100C.

Did they lower the threshold on that model? All Asus routers I've owned have the threshold set at 110C.

Correction: The threshold on my RT-AC68U was 120C. It idled for many years at ~85C.

From experiments, AC86U and AX88U shut down cores at 100C. The same cores work in AX11000. I expect it to be the same.

been having lots of problem with my ax11000 this one is 2nd unit already after replacement of the first one that also had lots of problems after 6months of use, now this 2nd ax11000 is already having problem again after around the same time around 6 to 7months of use, its wan connection would drop or act up every now and then, guess need to buy a diffent one now, ive tested with a diff cheap router i borrowed from a friend, and even just using the router/modem and i dont have those problems so im sure its the ax11000 causing my problems, its like a hardware issue i think it degrades really fast

WAN disconnection issue is common with Asus routers and specific ISP equipment. It was discussed many times with different possible solutions.

Heat kills electronics and Asus routers don't have very good cooling by default. For the AX11000, just put a 14cm fan on it and the CPU temp will drop ~20C. It's cheap and effective.

thanks bought a fan attachment on our local china china store here temps went down to 49c
gonna buy a laptop fan cooler also to put on the base might lower it more

Multiple cooling pad options on Amazon, if a cooling pad is the preferred solution. Most of them low quality and durability products though.

For those of you who are placing a fan directly on top of the router, is it oriented to blow air down into the router or pull air up out of the router?

I'm blowing down and it seems to help a lot. I wouldn't want to get in a negative air pressure situation with the fan pulling up so it seems like pushing in fresh air from outside of the router is best to me.
