Anyone with any comments on this new release?

For me so far so good. I have a mesh system with a GT-AC5300 hard wired. All working perfectly.

Is this still running well for you? I just upgraded today. I was having a bit of an issue with 43986. I would find myself running into occasional WAN drops because of what I assumed was a memory leak. I hope whatever was causing my problem has since been resolved.

Out of curiosity, what steps did you use to set up the AC5300 in a wired AImesh configuration? I assume it is something like:

1. Plug in a factory reset AC5300 near the AXE11000
2. Configure AC5300 through quick set up
3. Wire any LAN connection on the AC5300 to a LAN connection on the AXE11000????

No. That is wrong.

Perform a full reset to factory defaults using the WPS Button method appropriate for your router.

[Wireless] ASUS router Hard Factory Reset | Official Support | ASUS Global

Do not touch the router after the router reboots.

Go to the main router's GUI and click 'Add AiMesh node'.

After the node has been successfully added, I suggest waiting at least 15 minutes for the node to be fully configured and allow it to settle down.

Now, unplug the node and physically move it to the location you want to use it in.

This is helpful. A couple of clarifying questions if you don’t mind:
1. Is the full factory reset of the mesh node or the primary node?
2. After the mesh node is configured, do I connect the WAN port of the mesh node to a switch port on the primary node?

thanks

1. Usually, just the AiMesh node needs a full reset. But if issues persist, doing a full network reset is the next step I would do.

2. Yes.

This is how I did it
