Huge bug in this firmware. Your guest network is no longer respecting WAN BLOCK on devices. So main wifi network will block as usual if you set it so but guest network WAN block is no longer working. Only solution is go back to former firmware. Tried this with numerous devices, android tv, android mobile phone, ios etc.. the wan block no longer working.

Bummer for such an expensive router.

hopefully fixed asap.

Well done some more testing and the GUEST network has full access to the internet , blocked or not. Send pictures with logs already to asus. For main wifi the wan block is working as intented. For guest networks it's not.

Anyone else has the issue ?

update today :

Even after FULL FACTORY RESET
Even after RESTORE OLDER FIRMWARE
Even after deleting wifi guest networks and re-installing them.

All to no avail, wifi guest networks are disregarding WAN BLOCK.

no problems here, i dont use guest networks on this router but did the test and it more or less ignores it

cheers

Well I did more testing, deleted all guest networks, made a new IoT (internet of things) network , same result. The wan block is not working. You can set it to on for the device, shows red icon , but traffic is visible and just goes trough. Started youtube on a blocked smartphone and on a blocked TV and no problem whatsoever to get internet access.

This firmware is serious bagger, especially for a router of this price.

I will end up sending them back. Buy something else.

I report that PPPoE has problems authenticating after the router is rebooted. Sometimes it takes multiple reboots, other times it connects after several minutes. All available firmwares have the same problem.
I didn't even solve it by changing the DSL modem

I continue to be pleased with the stability of this version for my uses.

About every three weeks, it seems to lose connectivity to wireless clients and needs a reboot. However, the reboot on this version goes much another than the previous.

it seems so... mybe they did not sell enough of them to support it... it hope for update in a day or two :)

come on Asus, fix the PPPoE connection problems on this model.
And then, can someone explain to me why ROG routers are always updated significantly later than normal models?
Is this how ASUS considers customers who spend hundreds of euros/dollars for its most expensive routers?

I have always purchased high end routers from Asus with the belief that they will have constant and reliable support. This slowness in supporting the Be98 is ridiculous. And for me the solution is very simple. If they think they can continue like this I will sell it and buy high end routers from other brands for life.
If they don't care, imagine what I don't care about.

Asus needs to realease a solid firmware for this router...... my AX16000 for ex took like 9 mounths to get a new firmware, or at least gives Beta firmwares like before and a feedback topic

cheers

Nothing is known. Maybe in April we could hope for a new release. But as things stand it is ridiculous on Asus' part.
