On my Netgear router that I'm upgrading away from, I can enter into the MAC address filter [white]list the actual name of the device.
This is invaluable, because it keeps everything sorted cleanly, and tells me what devices should be removed as time goes on. It also helps me troubleshoot any particular device without having to hunt for the number.
I can't see that possibility in the ASUS manuals I find online. I just see the ability to enter the addresses. This is also the case with the POS router built into my FIOS modem. Addresses only. And it makes a confusing mess.
IS THERE AN ASUS ROUTER that allows me to enter the text name of the device alongside the address?
