No, did not tried inSSIDer because I do not have any non mobile device with a wifi adapter, my pc and the main computers are at cable, only cellphones, tablets, readers... Are using the bands

I'm so sad that this 5Ghz-2 us so poor

Anyone with the 5300 in hands can confirm this?

Doesn't matter they are wifi devices. Download wifi analyzer from google store. Scan for congested channels.

Change the channel on the 2nd 5GHz radio. I have a 5GHz Turtle Beach gaming headset with the receiver sitting 4 feet from my AC88U and I have no issues.

Astro headset uses channel 149 to 161, so I have no way to go :(

Really don't know what to do

Change channel anyway of second 5ghz band to lowest band. Worked on my Astro a50 before
Just tried here, channels from 149 and up give me the issue

The sound starts making huge noises and the wifi speeds goes really bad

Using smart connect also is no way to play with channels right?

The router is making noises?

Guys I sent this to Astro support but as you are the genius about wifi and routers I decided to post here as well, Merlin do you have a light for me, take a look

Hi guys how are you?

Is it impossible to use teh A50 Gen 2 with routers that have smart connect? 3 bands

since i bought the headset i`m having issues, well i thought it could be my router but i changed the router and finally found the issue

if the receiver is on the wifi speed is a crap, when i turn it off it stays good like a charm, it is interfering in my 5ghz-2 that have the high channels, so what sould i do? need the smart connect

Should i sell the A50 and buy the new A40 TR?

-------------------------------------

Now I really need help, don't wanna buy another headset and don't wanna loose 5Ghz-2 as well

Edit: The Astro uses channels 149 to 161

Is there a way even with code to force the 5ghz-2 uses another channel instead this range at smart connect?

Stay away from Smart Connect: you are way smarter than your new router at knowing which device should connect to which band.

Also, auto QoS is wonky. Don't turn it on. I quickly glanced over the thread and someone is apparently having 5GHz band 2 problems? I have all my signal settings at their defaults...including Auto channel, something I didn't use on my 3200. I am getting consistent wireless throughput around 900Mbps on both 5GHz channels, my AC68 which is attached as a media extender continues its 1300/1300 link rate, and DHCP continues to work with it for nearly a solid week of uptime.

Firmware 753.

Have seen NO wireless restarts or other glitches. Cisco VPN (on client, not router) through firewall plus Xbox One plus other devices all attached without a hitch.

I use sime remote desktop software that tended to pixellate from time to time. Not happening ever with 5300. Dslreports still giving me AAA rating, and Speedtest showing that throughput is as ISP advertised and even a little higher.

Oh, yeah. That headset isn't the only recent device that steps all over wifi bands. Does the ASTRO allow you to force a channel? Some devices actually tend to follow the router's frequency, like purposely trying to make trouble. If you must use the headset, use the lower band for anything near you and that headset, until you can find a headset that doesn't make this much trouble. 2.4GHz headsets make less problems for me, even though signal carries farther.

Ahh, good ol 753. Wish I had a way to get that fw back. It didn't get drastically worse or anything like that with the upgrade but it was noticeably smoother on 753 for me. A shame they didn't post it

Feel for ya, such a solid headset to have too. Can the headset be hard wired as well like some Bluetooth headsets have the option of? Obviously you'd lose the surround sound portion without the decoder but it could get you by as you seek out a long term fix?

Doesn't Merlin have an Official 5300 firmware thread? I think he still has the older FW in that thread. I'm on my mobile and cannot find it right now, but I have it saved as a favorite on my desktop at home if you cannot find it.

Really don't know what to do

Perhaps just move the base a bit? Might be too close to the Router and getting some broadband interference from the WiFi on that band...

(I've see similar with bluetooth in 2.4GHz)

Really? I'd love that. Will look around for it

Thanks for the help, was able to find it when you mentioned it previously...your a life saver, difference was instant....all the trouble spots are gone again, I have my BEAST back!

funny that asus support wouldn't help with this but alls well that ends well....
