Agreed, the only one I could find for the RT-AC5300 is 8MB on their website as well which is about 50 MB less than it should be.

OK so now we have a new release. Should I upgrade and leave my 2 68U nodes with the 99 firmware. I am running the 40 firmware in the 86U because the previous 2 versions were bad. Hope this new one is stable!!! The UI was bad and the DHCP reservation would disappear.

WHERE is DownloadMaster, others also missing it or only me on 86U and 68U?
Not usable anymore, with new stick you can install, but then it says DM is deactivated.
I am running the router in AP-mode if this will make any differences.

Update: DM needs very long time to be shown again, just wait (maybe over night).

I can no longer get AiMesh to work/connect after installing this firmware. 86U router with 68U node. I've tried with the new firmware on 68U and the previous version. The new version at least finds the node, but never successfully adds it as a AiMesh node. It doesn't really matter because I don't really use AiMesh because I get better performance from a single router, but I do like to update firmware and check for improvements.

did you update both routers firmware? Try to first mesh them and afterwards update main an then node firmware.

I first updated the 86U and tried AiMesh and it wouldn't even locate the node. Then I updated the 68U and then it would locate it, but then fails adding the node everytime. I reset both routers several times and re-flashed the 68U to no avail.

Update Dec 8 2018:
Hyperbole removed; it seems the issues I was having in my original post (below) are because I had certain Trend Micro features enabled (Adaptive QoS). After disabling those features and doing a full factory reset/initialization (and then continuing to leave those features disabled), I no longer have any strange "dcd" kernel crashes or any loss of IPv6 connectivity.

I don't think this firmware is very good and I think it should be avoided by everyone.

It's constantly soft-crashing my RT-AC86U (crashing without restarting my router) and every time it does that, all my devices lose their IPv6 connections.

Clearly, this firmware was not tested thoroughly by Asus. There are many people who are actually quite dependent on IPv6.

Your sentiment might be diluted by your over-reaction. I am not using IPv6, and this firmware so far seems to be better (86U router, 2x 68U nodes). Your "avoid" advice directed at users like me is therefore inaccurate.

The client list on this new firmware is still a bit of a mess.

Improvements: it now resolves names, and chooses appropriate icons.
Backwards steps: the number of clients jumps all over the place, every few seconds. One moment 8 clients, the next moment 24. Impossible to read and use.
Same old: Wired clients on DHCP appear as "static".

Wow, I just looked at my log in it's entirety! It's currently 0812 EST. For the past 8 hours (while I was sleeping) that same "soft crash" has been happening every 15-30 minutes. That same error is repeated numerous times in my log. I last rebooted my router about 9 hours ago.

I see the same activity. It started at about 1800 12/6 and lasted until around 0300 12/7.

I see the same thing on AC86U with Merlin's latest firmware. Router is working fine though. No loss of internet.
