Looks like that action is global. Checked the AU support page and it is gone. Sure hope the router does not try a downgrade.. oh yes, I did download that version. Good for me!384_81792 seems to have been pulled from the asus website: https://www.asus.com/us/Networking/RT-AC86U/HelpDesk_BIOS/
If you want it here it is: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1X-5mnzl48Nh3iHf2Qctr96w7i-7OGLwK?usp=sharingWhat's up with that...been looking to move from 45717 merlin 384.12...oh well..looks like I'll be waiting a bit longer.
Yeah, I'm still liking this release! It's a puzzle why they pulled it. It would be nice if they would give us a clue!

Android app works well on my phone and tablet as well as the iPod. Am not seeing any disconnects. 2.4 GHZ set to ch 11 20 MHZ and 5 GHZ set to ch 36 20, 40 80 MHZ. Have media server and samba off. Using QOS and AiProtect.Found another problem in this firmware, I cannot connect to the andriod app. Always get a "connection failed" message. And wifi drops are more frequent.
Maybe it was too good! LOL
For me I really like Smart Connect now with manual channel selection...but then the manual selction didn't stick...

Yes, 2.4GHz (11) does and now 5GHz (36) sticking as well...Does the 2.4 channel selection stick?
Does the 5.0 channel selection stick if you do not use a radar sensitive channel?

That could entirely be the case but who am I to suugest otherwise? So, maybe your complaint of it not sticking has to do with the router being designed to avoid radar interference, and nothing to do with defective firmware.
