Before I waste any more time – countless hours so far – I hope somebody can help with this issue: devices are connected (and stay connected) to the router, but lose their Internet connection (no Internet). I have to switch between 2.4 and back to 5G or the other way around, or I have to reboot the router to reestablish an Internet connection.

So far i have done two complete factory resets and I am on the latest firmware. The only thing I change before I start configuring again is, that I change the IP address pool starting from the default 192.168.50.2 to starting from192.168.1.2. (I have a Vera edge that is set to.192.168.1.137 and I am afraid to change that setting, because if I have to do a factory reset on the Vera device, it would be a nightmare).

Could this be the cause of the constant Internet connection losses?

More information is likely needed.
What is the router's firmware version? Are you using stock Asus or Asus-Merlin? If using Asus-Merlin, are you running any addon scripts?
What is the router connected to up stream?
Do the wired LAN clients have internet access or are they too loosing their access?
At any point do any of the clients wired or wifi have internet access?
If the issue is only with WiFi clients, have you disabled internet access for those WiFi clients?
Have you enabled any sort of Parental Controls for the affected clients?
What DNS servers have you configured for your LAN and WiFi clients?
Are you using any sort of DNS sink (Pi-Hole or similar) with the router?
Post the WAN IP address along with the LAN IP addres and the LAN IP address range and subnet.

You previously said you fixed this problem after a factory reset. So when did it stop working again?

The only thing I change before I start configuring again is, that I change the IP address pool starting from the default 192.168.50.2 to starting from192.168.1.2.
Just to confirm, when you changed the starting address to 192.168.1.2 you also changed the corresponding ending address (e.g. to 192.168.1.254)?

Check that change is also reflected on the LAN - LAN IP page where it should now say "IP Address = 192.168.1.1" and "Subnet Mask = 255.255.255.0".

If that all looks correct then examine the System Log - General Log for error messages.

I noticed something weird.

Attached are screenshots from my iPad, which is connected and working well, and from my iPhone, which has a connection to the router, but no Internet connection. When I look at the connection information on my iPhone it shows the router IP address is 192.168.1.10, which is wrong. On the iPad, it has the correct router address, 192.168.1.1.

What is going on?

🤔 I have a TP link Wi-Fi extender with the same SSID….

Sounds like that might be the problem.

On the TP-Link extender - Settings, Network, DHCP Server... make sure it's Off.

I have one of these and they are miniature routers with NAT, DHCP, AP Mode, etc. options. Check the User Manual.
