asus rt-n56u drops internet while transfer files to usb drive

New Around Here
I just setup my new RT-N56U router today and everything was working great until I started transferring a movie from my pc to the usb drive connected on the router. The file size is about 1.4GB. The PC is connected to the router via ethernet. After a min of starting the transfer to the drive, I got no internet either on my laptop (wireless) or on my ps3 (ethernet). Then I canceled the transfer and got the internet back.

Tried the same thing again to make sure it was the problem and the same thing happened again. One last thing, I got ftp set up to share the drive online. Also, the transfer speed seems to be slow around 2MB/s maximum through ethernet connected pc to usb hard drive. Does this happen to anyone else or anyone got any idea why is this happening?

Ok I got the above fixed somehow by tweaking some settings in windows (disable autotuning, RDC, and some other settings in the NIC card advance options) by following some advice on forums about slow network transfer on windows 7. Now I get speeds of about 10-13MB/s while transferring from my wired PC to the USB hard drive (Western Digital My Passport 1GB USB 3.0). I get speeds between 20-30MB/s while transferring from wired pc to wired laptop (both Gigabit). And I get speeds of 6-7MB/s while transferring from wired PC to wireless laptop (my internet speed is about 40-60Mbps most of the time).

Are these speeds reasonable? I thought at least wired to wired gigabit, I was gonna be able to get over 60MB/s speeds. Or maybe this is still because of Windows limiting my transfer speed somehow. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to get better transfer speeds close to gigabit?

Another thing, I tested the lan speed by using LAN Speed Test downloaded from cnet downloads and it report that my LAN speed between 2 wired PCs is 66MB/s. This is very strange. Maybe windows explorer is just slow in transferring files. Any suggestions or comments highly appreciated. Thanks.
