New Around Here
Hello I've had this router from new for 43 days and it's worked fine other than 5GHz dropping occasionally.

Now the 5GHz band isn't showing up at all, on all devices it shows as 'not in range'. I haven't changed any settings.

From day 1 it's been running merlin firmware v.380.63_2.

I've attached a photo showing the settings.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Check the system log. See if something like that appeared:

kernel: SKIPPED false Type 1 Radar Detection. min_pw=18 pw_delta=0 pri=61681 fm_min=0 fm_max=0 nconsecq_pulses=3. Time from last detection = 43468, = 724min 28sec. Detected pulse index: 0

If the answer is YES most probably the problem is with DFS channels. In such case don't use 'auto' for control channel selections and uncheck DFS channels. Try the following configuration instead:

Channel bandwidth: 20/40
Control channel: 36 or 40 or 44 or 48
Auto select channel including DFS channels: UNchecked
Extension channel: Auto

I had the same problem and the above fixed it.

P.S. The above should be used if you are in Europe. For other regions other channels may apply.

Thank you both, very simple and seems to be showing up again on channel 36. And yes, I'm in the UK.

I have loads of that radar detection error in my system log.

I did do a search before posting - honest!:p

Happy to learn that it helps. If you are living near to airport/seaport/military base/weather station/etc., this is a common issue. :)
