anyone have a mirror? I get the following

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /asuswrt-merlin/download could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Working okay here...downloaded the firmware 10 mins ago and tested again now just before posting.

is there any way of getting channel 120 or 124 with this fw? in tomato for rt-ac66u i use channel 120 on 80MHz and i would like to stay on this channel so nothing will ever interfere with my rt-ac66u 5GHz

im curious the results of the new tuxera drivers aswell...... 15MB/s on rt-ac66u? thats about what it would take for me to switch fw

i saw 18mb/s read and 8-9mb/s write sustained with a usb2 flash drive formatted ntfs over samba on n66w, overclocked 662mhz

Can't Flash this beta on RT-N16

I am on .43 firmware. Never have troubles flashing previous builds.

This one, from Opera and Chromium, using http or https gives me a message that the firmware couldnt be uploaded.

I am connected to lan ports via ethernet cable.

After some tries, I also verified the checksum of the .trx image and matches correctly the one on the text file included on the downloaded zip

Also... I am looking forward to test it to se if I can do ssh from outside again. Nor nvram clear and unplugging the usb disk let me in. I have this other question in another post.

Thanks in advance

Update: after trying to flash .43 with the same results, decided to do a restart in the router, and after that the issue was gone. Now I am using .44 beta 1 and looks good. Nice graphs in the main router page.

Still no luck trying to ssh from outisde (from WAN) nor reaching lighttp from outside.

Thanks

Since updating to 376.44 Beta 1 my country code has been locked to US instead of AU.

I purchased this router in an Australia store to be used in Australia.

Other than channels 12 and 13 on 2.4ghz I think nothing else would change but many other countries have different rules and those users may be forced to break the laws in their country with this firmware.

Maybe a warning should be given that this firmware is incapable of correctly setting country code and therefore breaks the law in many countries other than USA.
I removed all regional restrictions on my N66U - but do operate it legally. I do not wish to risk my ham licence.

Loading this beta made it change to EU (which is not a regulatory domain) losing me 13 legal 5GHz channels. Reinstalled 374.43 and all was well again. I hope that this is something that will not be in the final.

I don't have that many 5GHz devices, but on principle, I want access to all my legal channels.

So far noticed when you rename a client from the device list it won't survive a reboot of the router it defaults back to before it was named. Also same bug as Asus firmware you can't set the 5 ghz band to N/AC you must use auto or you will stay at channel 36 and be stuck at 20 MHz. Speed and range seem the same as 43_2. That's it for the moment.

EDIT: Also noticed assigning a icon in device list also does not survive reboot and reverts back to default. Have to name the clients like the old firmware through the DHCP server tab this functions properly.

Error with download RT-AC66U_3.0.0.4_376.44_beta1.zip.

It stops at 37%.

anyone have same issue?

No. [need min of 10 chars to post]

No problems downloading here. Been running the beta for about 90 minutes now.

I like the new CPU/RAM usage graphs. No issues with the migration at this point, and my OpenVPN client connection works fine.

I am hoping wireless is better in this build than that past few; I don't attribute that to Merlin, but to ASUS. I had to relocate my router this year due to poorer signal strength, and I don't have that large of a house. The only other thing I could attribute it to is changing my Wireless bridge from a Buffalo N-series to a newer Buffalo AC-series; it works great for communication between the router and the bridge, but I suppose it could cause issues with other clients (though that sounds unlikely to me).

The last update

I have a rt-ac66 on 374.42

I use it as an accespoint and have stable troughput 340 Mbs. I would not expect more.

I don't need extra power. 32mw on 2.4ghz and 80mw on 5ghz covers every room in my house and also my garden and I have a big house and garden.

What I do need is the allowed range of 5ghz channels in the Netherlands. If newer firmware versions would take away the possibility to use the allowed range of channels, than I will stay on 374.42. And after that no more ASUS.

For the very brief time that I had the beta loaded on my N66U, the CPU usage never dropped below 100%. Average CPU load on 374.43 is 0% for each of the three ranges.

I am downloading now but the router was idle before (with the beta 1).

OT: What is the direct email to the firmware dev team? I have searched for it but not found it.

My network map only shows 3 clients, but I have about 15 clients on my network. I am using a 10. prefix on my network with 255.255.0.0 netmask. Would this cause any issues with that?

I have this issue on .43, but held off on posting since .44 has network map fixes, but still occurring with .44.

does any amount of adjustment to antenna positions or the client bring you to your desired performance ?

[edit/] or turning the router itself

No change at all- router is 8 feet off the ground with clear site to TV LAN adapter which is 15 feet from router.

Power Capped & Country Codes Changed

Comparing NVRAM before and after nvram reset and reload....Notable changes between .42 and .44

N66U:

1) Power is now capped at 100mw for both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands
--->wl_TxPower=200, wl1_TxPower=200, wl0_TxPower=200 all changed to values of 100.
2) wl1_country_rev=0 changed to wl1_country_rev=2
3) wl1_nband=1 changed to wl1_nband=0
4) wl0_country_rev=2 changed to wl0_country_rev=39
5) wl0_gmode=1 changed to wl0_gmode=-1
6) wl_chanspec=157l changed to wl_chanspec=153u
7) pci/1/1/ccode=US changed to pci/1/1/ccode=Q2

BEFORE - 5GHz, -68, -66 dBm
AFTER- 5GHz, -72, -73, -70, -71 dBm
RESULT - Lost about 4-7 dBm on 5 GHz from this update

BEFORE - 2.4GHz, -51, -62 dBm
AFTER- 2.4GHz, -55, -56, -56, -57 dBm
RESULT - Lost about 4 dBm on 2.4 GHz from this update

Looks like many changes with country codes and power. Power also can't be set past 100% in the GUI, which appears to correspond to the 100mw cap.

Any ideas what is going on with the country codes? I'm in the US, so shouldn't they all be US? Thanks.

@Merlin how are you?

I have a RT-AC68U

I`m using the factory Asus 3.0.0.4.376.1663 FW (The Latest one)

I always do factory resets when i go to your FW or vice-versa, just to make things clean

I just did not get it:

How should i do that? The factory reset is not enough in my case

Please let me know what to do

Thanks

A factory reset is fine as always.
The note about jffs is only if you use some scripts on your router.
If so, you can create your scripts again or make a backup, that's all.

Huawei e3276s still not working. Why not fixed?Maybe possible with script connect to 4g internet with this modem?

Same here, I live inside The Netherlands, so give me all the allowed 5GHz channels.
The EU locale only gives you a pathetic four channels.
I sure hope this can be fixed.

Unfortunately it seems to get more and more questionable for Europeans to buy products that are developed with the US in mind. First you have to put up with possible NSA influence and then you will get hit by lip service to the FCC that play no role in Europe.
Cloud, email, Social Media, and now hardware and whatever from the US of A is becoming quickly less attractive.
