TurboQam is finally working in this firmware!! I now get a steady 8MB/s up or down.

Stations List was added in to Wireless log as well... woohoo!!




One small issue;

In the Wireless Log in the main WiFi Router (ac68u), this is what it shows for for Media Bridge(ac68u);
-53dBm No Yes Yes 1M(Tx rate) 117M(Rx Rate)
Tx rate is stuck at 1M, or at least thats what the log is showing even though i have refreshed it a dozen times.


This is what shows for the PC that is hard wired in to Media Bridge;
-54dBm 175.5M(Tx rate) 156M(Rx Rate).


Here is what i see In Media Bridge Wireless Log, a PC that is hardwired to it;
-53dBm 173.3M 192.5M
So why does a hardwired PC has a wifi signal level and a TX/RX rate in the first place?

Asus website is messed up....I try to go to the support page for the AC56U...and it shows a picture of a motherboard...and the dropdown menu to select OS...doesn't show...

I have noticed that with this beta I have to reset my rt-ac66u set as a repeater every day. Unless I reset the 68u then I get 3 days it works fine then starts everyday reset of the 66u. The throughput when it dies off goes from 7mb up down to .10mb up down. The 68u is on the latest firmware and was factory reset..

Forgot to mention if I take same device closer to the master router the 68u the device works as it should speed wise.

Those links might not work correctly; but choose Android as the O/S and you should see it (not very intuitive).

The firewall still has to be disabled for the USB 3 and USB 2 hard disks to be accessed wirelessly. Asus probably needs 3 years to even notice the problem.

OS makes no difference in router firmware....its the same file download for all os in the list..

Technically, the firmware on the router itself is unix or linux based.

That's odd, since I haven't done any change to minidlna. In fact the one patch I have applied to it was sent to Asus, which applied it to theirs a few weeks ago. Might be something else that's different (I do use a much newer version of the uPNP daemon for instance).

i know the thread is old and there is probably a better place to ask this but I was curious as to how much newer version of uPNP daemon and what the major benefits are? Might be pretty stupid but I'm trying to get my xbox to run just as well through this router as it does straight from the modem. I have done portforwarding, static ip address (through xbox and with mac assigning in router), upnp off/on, dmz, etc. and every combination of all of those. I havent achieved sustainable results. Some setups worked well for 30 mins or so but then would become degraded and needed a reboot. I decided finding the best upnp would prob be the best way to go since even dmz'ing the xbox didn't work out for very long. I remembered seeing your post about having a much more updated upnp but I am not really sure what all that entails. I was going to move to your FW eventually after it was out of beta (i think it still is in beta right but Ill check that after i finish this post), but wanted some more info on upnp daemon as well.

The miniupnpd version is roughly two years newer than Asus's version (theirs is from sometime in 2011 or 2010, the version I use is from last September if I recall correctly). I'm not sure how much it will help overall, I mostly kept it more up-to-date due to uPNP being known to often be susceptible to security issues, so I was simply playing it safe.

There's been quite a few improvements by the miniupnpd author since then as well, but I keep most of the new features disabled so far.
