Better News About WPA3 Device Support

Still no news from Broadcom nor Asus?

I have no contacts @ Broadcom. No response from ASUS.

@thiggins - just noticed that hostapd has preliminary support for many of the WPA3 methods...

All the hooks seem to be there:

CONFIG_OWE - Opportunistic wireless encryption
CONFIG_DPP - Device Provisioning Protocol
CONFIG_SAE - Simultaneous Authentication of Equals
CONFIG_SUITEB192

This is encouraging, as OpenWRT uses hostapd and wpa_supplicant in it's various forms....

Still checking on sources for silicon if changes are really needed, or can WPA3 run over current chipsets with a driver update...

UPDATE - looks like someone may have gotten WPA3 in limited form to work

I wonder how it would work on phones especially units that are not actively supported by thier manufacturers, though I did read of backwards compatibility, still has me curious as to how the support for wpa3 would work.
