Bitdefender box 2 with a properly set router: overkill?

Hi :)
would adding a Bitdefender box 2 to the network a bit overkill if running Asus router with Merlin firmware + AiProtection IPS + Diversion + Skynet? (sorry I didn't read the docs yet as I might think some to these may have overlapping functionality).
My concern is that all of the above functionalities might be a too big load for the CPU and the RAM of the router.
This is one of the latest reviews I found about version 2 of Bitdefender.

Many thanks for any suggestions :)

EDIT: to be honest I'm posting this also because I'm about to pull the trigger on a RT-AC86U but I was still considering some mesh solutions (Amplifi HD/Instant or EERO) and then eventually add extra security with an IPS box like the Bitdefender

I'm not entirely sure how it protects devices in your network. But if it means to direct DNS queries in your router to the Bitdefender Box it might outmanouver Diversion.

The FAQ on the webpage does not elaborate on exactly how it does it.
In any case, your router will easily handle it as the processing is 99.9% done on the newly added device.

Sorry I should have read what I wrote before posting.. my concern was what happens without the Bitdefender box: how heavy it's AiProtection IPS, your code (if they can run together) on the Asus router CPU/RAM or if it's better to offload with such a device (but I'm tending to prefer a open source solution like yours). Thanks for taking time to answer me! :)

In that case, your router easily handles that. Older MIPS based routers may peak a little more with heavy load but all Merlin supported routers are capable to handle the extra workload without impacting the performance much, if it does at all.
