Solved "Block internet access" does nothing

UPDATE: so, instead of rebooting, I did a manual power off/on on the main router and somehow it works as expected now. It blocks clients that I want it to block. It's weird that a manual power cycle fix the problem but a reboot does not. Glad it works anyway.

So I tried "Block internet access" but it does not seem to work at all, tried on both wired and wirrless devices
Tried do it with web UI and android app
The device(s) has the red blocked mark next to its Icon, but the device(s) will still access to Internet without being blocked.
I watched/read multiple sources and believe it should just work as expected but strangely it does not.
Anyone has same problem? T.I.A
Also tried the time schedule thing, also tried Global redirect.... but nothing seems to work ...at all

Well, I have noticed it myself on my sister's router and what you can possibly do is to limit the internet speed of those who are blocked and limit it to 0.1 then they notice that hardly anything happens on their device and you can try to limit those that are blocked, it should be on automatic that device gets minimum value

Well I have pointed out asus but that doesn't solve the problem

Hope it works to reduce their speed

Any blocking based on MAC address is a lot less effective these days due to more and more devices using MAC randomization to continually change the MAC address of clients. That wasn't even a thing until a few years ago. I think Apple started it, and others have followed suit. It's just the way things are evolving when it comes to security and privacy.

I also tried to block my phone with the phone using its real MAC (disable Randomized MAC in the wifi dropdown menu).
Still nothing blocked or slowed down so I guess its not that randomized MAC thing thats prevent the blocking from doing its job. It just doesnt work from the start I assume :/

As others have indicated if the client device's MAC address rotates or changes then trying to block internet access to that device using the MAC address may be problematic with the Asus firmware. On a old NAS device that has a manually assigned IP address that doesn't change it's MAC address, Block Internet Access on a wired client does work for me on a RT-AX86U Pro running 3004.388.8_2. Some attached screen captures showing the settings for the one Block Internet Access network client.

I wonder what the solution for achieving this in the future will be given the growing prevalence of MAC spoofing? It's really handy to be able to block devices' internet access without a more advanced configuration in place.
