Change USB HDD name from "HDD (1) to HDD"

Simple story, I took me USB HDD out while I was on holiday, get back and plug it in.

It used to be USB_HDD and now it is USB_HDD (1)


I don't know how to change it back as swapping usb ports is no use and unmounting and rebooting didn't help either

This has messed up all my backup paths now, can anyone help ?

I cannot just stick it in a windows PC as it is EXT now.

I know I didn't put that in as it was such an obvious thing to try but that doesn't work.

got it back ejecting both, swapping round then ejecting both and swapping back again. firmware bug of some sort I guess, nothing to do with Merlins builds as I had this on the original builds I ran before.

When you say "both", do you mean you have two USB HDDs? If so, make sure they both have different labels. You can't have two HDDs with the same label name, as a unique name is needed to generate the mount point.
