God you really don't ask for much do you! Haha.

No, definitely feel like I'm being a PITA now! :D
OK, a bit confused, what I'm getting in my exported CSV is definitely US date format ... so are you saying I shouldn't be getting that?

Edit -probably an Excel setting I need to work out?

I suspect it is an Excel thing. If you open the csv in Notepad, can you check the date format is coming out as expected please?

Yes, it is - work needed on my end then ...

Code:
Metric,Time,Value
Ping,2020-04-12 18:45:31,8.302
Ping,2020-04-12 18:50:31,8.498

Apologies!

Phew, at least my code is working!

My Excel seems to set it to a "custom" field type. If I manually override it to short/long date it behaves. I'm not sure what format Excel would be happiest with, to be honest! I suspect it will change based on the region/language/locale settings for Excel/the computer Excel is running on.

Your code is fine, it's my brain that needs an update!
I'll figure it out in the morning no doubt when I fire up Excel again with fresh eyes.

Thanks again!

Thanks Jack, appreciate it!
Any chance of getting the date/time in ISO format (like you display it in the spdMerlin GUI), for us weird countries like Australia that don't use US-style dates?

Code:
2020-04-13 18:42:18 94.06 37.94
2020-04-13 18:12:18 93.9 37.9
2020-04-13 17:42:19 93.45 37.96
(OT, sorry)
I can only wish the U.S. would switch to reasonable time and date formats. The fact the we (except for the military and aviation) insist on using 12-hour clocks actually annoys me far more than using imperial units instead of metric. And m/d/y for date? What kind of system isn't most to least or least to most?

Seriously, the whole imperial system thing doesn't phase me at all. I used both in school, and yeah, the metric system is marginally easier, but not as great as people make it out to be.

Hi

If I reboot my modem, (on bridge mode to AC86U) connmon doesn't seem to record the internet disconnect, is this normal? (short downtime? takes about 2-3 minutes to reboot)

connmon isn't running continuously. :)

That makes it 'not running' for 4 minutes 30 seconds every 5 minutes then. :)

Sure, but you will get blacklisted, I think. :)

that explains.... is it possible to make it run every second?
i mean, i could make it practically "realtime" by testing for 50 seconds every minute, with the 10s gap used to write the ping test result to the database. i would not advise using raw output if i did this!

@Jack Yaz, please don't! :)
I mean if someone had a use case for every minute, the solution is simple: via ssh change the cron command, either manually or add it permanently to "services start" (maybe after a "sleep 30" to wait for all other services to be run):

Code:
cru a connmon "*/15 * * * * /jffs/scripts/connmon generate"

...where the 15 is replaced by something higher or lower (it's "every X mins"). Jack's default is 5, but I prefer to just do it four times and hour, so I have this in my "services start" which overrides the default.

Fellows in Portugal - what's the best server/IP to use with connmon?
I mean, it doesn't have to be the one with less ping, but the most stable one and that it can give us almost the same ping, with little float.

Thanks!

I use Nirsofts PingInfoView to figure out which server(s) are most responsive. Another member recommended this (probably in this thread).
