Not sure if this is related to the Voxel fw itself, so I'm unsure if I'm supposed to start a separate thread about this.

I run the latest Voxel for my RBK50 mesh and would really appreciate some help with setting up another router connected to one of the satellites as a Access Point.

So I purchases a Flint 2 to act as a Access Point only to be used for VR (Quest3). I follow the guidelines plug in Ethernet cable from RBS to Flint and set Flint into AP mode. But Flint never shows up in the device list on orbi. It kind of those, but shows up as two different ip adresses and two different Mac adress. If I leave it alone for some time al info about it just disappears, and come back upp as one device. So on and so forth. Flint itself is still througputting internet this entire time. But for some reason it doesnt stick as a client on the orbi network. When I det Flint to AP mode it's DHCP is auto disabled.

I've also disabled "interface state tracking" on the Flint.
I've tried Gl.iNets forum but haven't got any help.

I suspect there is a reason this won't work or is not a great idea. Any guidance would be appreciated! I'm running an RBR50 w/ your firmware, USB drive, Entware. Currently have Open VPN running to connect to nord.

Anyways, I'd really like to install the native Linux NordVPN rather than use OpenVPN (to get Nordlynx, and meshnet). It looks like I may be able to install the debian version, but I'd have to follow your readme and install in the appropriate direction, "Also, I’ve prepared the version of chroot-ed Debian Bullseye for ARMHF (i.e. with hard float, which will use all power of your FPU). It is in archive debianbullseye-armhf.tar.qz. Unpack it to /tmp/mnt/optware and use setdebian.sh script to start it manually. Also it is possible to run start of Debian daemons (e.g. nginx, proftp, tor or what-you-need) together with Entware services. See an example of startup script in /opt/etc/init.d directoryhere"

I recall seeing somewhere previously something about this not being compatible with the RBR50 w/ your firmware for some reason, but I cannot find it at the moment.

Also, the script you reference in your readme about debian (https://www.hqt.ro/how-to-install-d.../www.hqt.ro/how-to-install-debian-jessie-arm/) points to a 404.

- Can I install debian on my RBR50 for the ulimate purpose of instally the linux NordVPN packages? (and keep these loaded when rebooting router, etc)?

You can install Debian on your RBR50. The latest version of Debain i.e. 12 (bookworm) is available for download from my website.

How to run Debian daemons from the router is described for example here (the old link doesn't work, I see...):

Read the Usage example, not the installation. And there is also a sample script to start Debian daemons /opt/etc/init.d/S99debian. Note that you don't need to run Debian itself every time, just run its daemons.

Regarding using OpenVPN specifically from Debian: I'm not sure it will work, but give it a try.

Good luck,

Voxel.
