Just an update on my speed issues with the final 378.50.3 hggomes firmware I'm still testing on my RT-N66U.
Please see my original posts a page or two back.
I have left the network idle for over 24 hours now and no matter what, the best performance I can achieve is about 25% less than the RMerlin 378.50 final allowed.
However, before I flash the RMerlin firmware, I tried testing both upload and download speeds. Previously, I was only comparing the Wireless to LAN throughput which is an upload spec.
Copying the same file to a different destination directory gives me a 29.1MB/s peak download speed from the router to the wireless client. That is an improvement of about 16%.
I will leave this firmware on for the next week or so until I have time to try more variables. Still disappointed by the drop in upload speed, but the improvement in the download gives me confidence that the upload speed may be fixable too.

Feedback of minimal value of transmitted radio power
Because increasing transmitted power is not the panacea, how about setting the default value equal to stock so that the user can either increase or decrease his WiFi router's transmitted power as he needs?

I have a strange problem with the firmware.
the next day I lose the port forwarding.

MANDATORY:
- FACTORY DEFAULT RESTORE (http://ROUTERIP/Advanced_SettingBackup_Content.asp) is required AFTER FW upgrade.
- DO NOT USE/IMPORT OLD CONFIG FILE AFTER FLASHING, just configure it manually from scratch.

If it doesn't fix it, give it a try on RMerlin FW or ASUS stock, you will see the same scenario for sure, it's the same code.

Yesterday I performed this firmware update and change was night & day.
What I did not performed was a factory default restore after install, but only with the upgrade change was noticeable. I will try to perform a factory default restore this afternoon.

Before and after you lose forwardning?
Do you use any own iptables script?

Have you configure it manually from scratch after or you have imported an old config file?
Please describe exactly what your steps after flashing it.
You can't actually see the rule there can you? You need to see the prerouting table instead, that's where you will see your rule from port 80 going to 192.168.1.20:81.
iptables -t nat -L
I've noticed you are using pppoe connection, normally ISPs disconnect/connect/redial after 24-72h, you will have a new IP after, see if after you loose the firewall rule on the router the ppp0/wan IP change.

DNAT udp -- anywhere anywhere udp dpt:www to:192.168.1.20:81
Also you must tell me what's the reason for having DMZ and a forward rule together running on the same machine, that's the issue here.
